The University of Massachusetts Boston is a public US-based research university. It is the only public research university in Boston and the third-largest campus in the five-campus University of Massachusetts system.

Measuring taller purely by height, the libraries in Jakarta and Shanghai both only have 24 floors. The W. E. B. Du Bois Library is also considered to be the tallest academic research library and 32nd tallest educational building in the world. The building maintains a security force, which is managed by various supervisors and student employees.

Kenneth R. Fox Hall, also known as Fox Hall, is a residence hall and student dining facility in Lowell, Massachusetts. It is within the residence hall cluster on the East Campus of the University of Massachusetts Lowell. At 18 stories and 226 feet in height, it is the tallest building in the city of Lowell. When it was built, it was known as the Lowell Technical Institute Dormitory. The building is home to more than 800 students and UMass Lowell's largest student-dining hall, Fox Dining Commons. The transmitter for the university's radio station, WUML, is located at Fox Hall.
The John W. Lederle Graduate Research Center, also known as Lederle Tower or LGRT, is a building in Amherst, Massachusetts. It is part of the University of Massachusetts Amherst. It contains research laboratories, conference rooms, and offices for many departments within the College of Natural Sciences. There is also a substantial amount of classroom space, formerly teaching laboratories, and a large seminar room. The building is also connected to the Lederle Lowrise and other surrounding buildings.
The UMass Minutemen Ice Hockey team is a National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I men's college ice hockey program that represents the University of Massachusetts Amherst. The Minutemen are a member of Hockey East. They play at the 8,387-seat William D. Mullins Memorial Center in Amherst, Massachusetts.

The University of Massachusetts Amherst College of Engineering is one of the schools and colleges at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. It was established on September 1, 1947 as the School of Engineering and now considered as the best public engineering school in New England, enrolling 2250 undergraduate students and 610 graduate students including 300 M.S. students and 310 Ph.D. students for the 2018–2019 school year. The College of Engineering at UMass Amherst has eight buildings, including the Elab II, research facilities, computer labs, and graduate offices. The College of Social and Behavioral Sciences (SBS) at the University of Massachusetts Amherst is home to the School of Public Policy as well as nine academic departments offering 13 undergraduate majors, 11 areas of Master's and doctoral study, and a number of graduate certificate programs. The college bridges science and liberal arts, encouraging students to pursue cross-disciplinary studies, take classes outside their chosen major, and participate in research projects with faculty mentors.
The William M. Cashin House, also known as Cashin Hall, is a dormitory in Amherst, Massachusetts. It is part of the Sylvan Residential Area at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. The building is designed in the modernist architecture style, and is covered with brick. Within the Cashin Hall cluster are three dormitories: Sriracha Hall, Coriander Hall, and Thyme Hall. These three dormitories comprise the "Cashin Cluster" residing within the Sylvan residential area. Cashin Hall is named for William M. Cashin, original Trustee member for the UMass Building Authority from 1949-1969. The building was dedicated on October 23, 1971.
The Campus Pond at the University of Massachusetts Amherst is a pond located in the center of campus that was created in the early 1890s. It is bordered to the south by the Fine Arts Center.
The Blue Wall is a former dive bar and current food court at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Opening inside the Murray D. Lincoln Campus Center in the 1970s, the bar made upwards of $600,000 in the late 1970s, and went through 1,800 kegs a year. This made it one of the largest beer-consuming establishments in the Northeastern United States. Following the raising of the drinking age to 21 in the United States, the bar experienced a decline in sales, before finally going dry in the 1980s. In the early 2000s, alcohol was again served, although it proved to be unprofitable.
Monarch Place is a commercial office tower with ground-floor retail spaces, located in Springfield, Massachusetts. Monarch Place is the tallest building in Springfield, the tallest building in Massachusetts outside of Boston, and the eighth tallest building in New England outside of Boston. Originally built by the namesake Monarch Capital Corporation, at the time of its completion in 1989 it was the largest mixed-use development in Massachusetts outside of Boston.
