The muscular branches of ulnar nerve are a variety of branches of the ulnar nerve. One supplies the flexor carpi ulnaris muscle (a superficial muscle of the anterior compartment of the forearm), while the other supplies the ulnar half of the flexor digitorum profundus muscle (a deep muscle of the anterior compartment of the forearm).

The ulna is a long bone found in the forearm that stretches from the elbow to the smallest finger, and when in anatomical position, is found on the medial side of the forearm. It runs parallel to the radius, the other long bone in the forearm. The ulna is usually slightly longer than the radius, but the radius is thicker. Therefore the radius is considered to be the larger of the two.

Palmaris profundus is a rare anatomical variant in the anterior compartment of forearm. It was first described in 1908. It is usually found incidentally in cadaveric dissection or surgery.
