Chakwood songs, more formally known as Chakma film songs or Chakma songs, are songs featured in Chakwood films. Derived from the song-and-dance routines common in Indian films, Chakwood songs, along with dance, are a characteristic motif of Chakma cinema which gives it enduring popular appeal, cultural value and context. Style and format

Different uses of language in Chakwood songs can be complicated. Variations are used in most Chakma and Assamese, with some songs like Bengali and songs from modern Chakma to English It's not unusual to use the word cinema. In a film, in addition to the music, itself and the dance, "has been used for many purposes, including exacerbating the situation, evoking mood, commenting on themes and actions, providing relief and serving as an inner monologue.
