Nagy Aguilera De La Rosa (born May 28, 1986) is a Dominican professional boxer. He is perhaps best known for his upset first-round knockout win over former WBC heavyweight champion Oleg Maskaev.
Nagy Aguilera knocked out in 2009 the former WBC Heavyweight Champion Oleg Maskaev in the first round on December 11, 2009 in what was considered an upset. [1] Since then, Aguilera has been considered a journeyman of the ring.
He has also previously fought (and lost by Knockout) to former WBC Heavyweight Champion Samuel Peter [2] and former World Light Heavyweight Champion Antonio Tarver. [3]
On May 14, 2011 Aguilera lost by K.O. to Mexican-American Chris Arreola. [4]
In March 2012 he lost to Tomasz Adamek by unanimous decision: 99–91, 100-90 y 100–90. [5] [6]

He is a two-time world heavyweight champion, having held the unified WBC, IBF, IBO and lineal titles in 2001; and the WBC title again from 2005 to 2006. In boxing he competed from 1997 to 2015, and held multiple light heavyweight world championships, including the WBA (Unified), WBC, IBF and Ring magazine titles, as well as the IBO light heavyweight and cruiserweight titles.
Samuel Okon Peter is a Nigerian professional boxer. He held the WBC heavyweight title in 2008, when he stopped Oleg Maskaev in six rounds. In his prime, he was known for his rivalry with the Klitschko brothers, having faced Wladimir twice and Vitali once. Peter was named among the 20 greatest athletes in the history of independent Nigeria by The Punch in 2023, while his capturing of the WBC heavyweight title was ranked the 26th most memorable moment in independent Nigeria's sports history by Premium Times in 2020. He was ranked by The Ring among ten best heavyweights at the conclusion of a year from 2005 to 2008, reaching his highest ranking of world No.2 in 2007.
