Neil Newbon is an English actor known for playing Elijah Kamski and Gavin Reed in Detroit: Become Human , Karl Heisenberg in Resident Evil Village , and Astarion in Baldur's Gate 3 .
Newbon is the son of ITV sportscaster Gary Newbon. His twin brother Laurence works as a cameraman. [1]
In 1998, Newbon appeared in series one of the BBC Two comedy series "Goodness Gracious Me" as James the waiter in the programme's notable "Going for an English" sketch. He has appeared in numerous films. He voiced a tank driver in Jackboots on Whitehall , which starred Ewan McGregor. He starred in music videos for the Now Voyager Mix of "You Got the Love" by The Source and Candi Staton in 2006 and "Kingdom of Rust" by Doves in 2009. [2] In 2012, he joined the cast of Channel 4 soap opera Hollyoaks , in the role of Simon Walker. [3]
Since 2012, Newbon performed as the voice actor and motion capture actor for a number of prominent video game characters, including Elijah Kamski and Gavin Reed in Detroit: Become Human, Nicholai Ginovaef in Resident Evil 3 , Karl Heisenberg in Resident Evil Village , and Astarion in Baldur's Gate 3 . For his performance as Astarion, Newbon won Best Performance at the 2023 Game Awards, as well as the Golden Joystick award for Best Supporting Performer. [4] [5]
Newbon is a co-founder of the training facility Performance Captured Academy, which offers courses on motion capture for aspiring actors. [6] [7] In 2012, he married English film director China Moo-Young; they have one daughter. In 2018, he confirmed his relationship with Performance Captured Academy co-founder Saleta Losada. [8] [9]

Baldur's Gate is a series of role-playing video games set in the Forgotten Realms Dungeons & Dragons campaign setting. The series has been divided into two sub-series, known as the Bhaalspawn Saga and the Dark Alliance, both taking place mostly within the Western Heartlands, but the Bhaalspawn Saga extends to Amn and Tethyr. The Dark Alliance series was released for consoles and was critically and commercially successful. The Bhaalspawn Saga was critically acclaimed for using pausable realtime gameplay, which is credited with revitalizing the computer role-playing game (CRPG) genre.

Astarion Ancunín is a fictional character from Larian Studios' Baldur's Gate video game series, which is based on the tabletop fantasy role-playing system of Dungeons & Dragons and set in the Forgotten Realms. Making his first appearance in 2023's Baldur's Gate 3, Astarion is available as a major playable character, either as the primary protagonist, or as a recruitable party member. He is a rogue, specializing in stealth, lockpicking, and sneak attacks. In the game, Astarion is kidnapped alongside several other party members and infected with an Illithid parasite and must search for a way to cure himself. Early in the story, he is revealed to be a vampire spawn, and his personal quest focuses on evading and hunting down his former master, Cazador Szarr.
