NY Breakers is a professional swimming club and one of the original eight clubs of the global International Swimming League (ISL) based in New York City led by general manager, Tim Teeter and head coach, Martin Truijens. The ISL is owned by Konstantin Grigorishin and had its inaugural season in 2019. The original eight clubs were:  DC Trident, the New York Breakers, the LA Current, and the Cali Condors in the United States of America, and the Aqua Centurions, Energy Standard, the London Roar, and IRON in Europe. In 2020 ISL added the Toronto Titans (Canada) and a Tokyo team (Japan) for a total of ten teams.

During the inaugural season in 2019, NY Breakers ended 4th in Lewisville, Budapest and College Park, MD in the preliminary rounds and failed to advance to the finale in Las Vegas. [3]

2019 International Swimming League season

Team roster

ISL teams had a maximum roster of 32 athletes for 2019 season, with a suggested size of each club's traveling roster of 28 (14 men and 14 women). Each club had a captain and a vice-captain of different gender. The Breakers had one of the most culturally diverse teams of the league after Energy Standard, with athletes from 11 different countries representing the program. [4]

On the relay in 2016, he swam in the prelims of the race, on the 2020 Olympics 4×100-meter freestyle relay he swam in both the prelims and the final. He also won a gold medal in the 4x100-meter medley relay at the 2020 Olympic Games, swimming the freestyle leg of the relay in the prelims.

Mackenzie "Mack" Darragh is a Canadian competitive swimmer. He holds the Canadian record for the 200 m butterfly.

William Andrew Licon is an American competitive swimmer who specializes in breaststroke and medley events. He previously competed for the professional team LA Current in the International Swimming League. Licon is a three-time World Championship medalist, a two-time Pan American Games gold medalist and has been a member of the United States national team since 2015. He is the current American record-holder and former NCAA & US Open record-holder in the 200-yard breaststroke.

Kristóf Milák is a Hungarian swimmer. He is the current holder of the world record in the long course 200 metre butterfly and the European record in the long course 100 metre butterfly. At his first Olympic Games, the 2020 Summer Olympics, he won a gold medal in the 200 metre butterfly and a silver medal in the 100 metre butterfly. Justin Ress is an American swimmer. As a member of the USA national team Justin won the gold medal in the 50 meter backstroke at the 2022 FINA World Championships and was a member of the USA gold medal winning 4X100 free relay. He was also a key part of the USA team that defeated Australia in the resumption of the Duel in the Pool series in 2022. Ress competed as a member of the Cali Condors of the International Swimming League from 2019-2021 and looks forward to resumption of ISL in the near future. Ress was US national champion in the 100 backstroke in 2022 and 50 backstroke in 2017 after which he competed in the men's 50 meter backstroke event at the 2017 World Aquatics Championships. Ress swam collegiately for North Carolina State University where he was a 3-time NCAA champion, 21-time NCAA All-American, and 11-time ACC champion. In his first year at school he won the 2016 ACC Freshman of the Year award.

The team is based in San Francisco led by general manager Jason Lezak and head coach Gregg Troy. Assistant Coaches for the 2019 Season were Dean Boxall, Jeff Julian, and Linda Kiefer.

DC Trident is a professional swimming team based in Washington, D.C. DC Trident competes in the International Swimming League (ISL), which is a global, professional swimming league consisting of ten teams: the DC Trident, the New York Breakers, the L.A. Current, the Cali Condors, the Aqua Centurions, Energy Standard, the London Roar, Team IRON, the Toronto Titans, and the Tokyo Frog Kings.

Amy Bilquist is an American competitive swimmer who specializes in the backstroke and freestyle events. She represented LA Current in the 2019 season of the International Swimming League and will represent DC Trident in the 2020 season.

London Roar is a professional swimming club based in London and one of the first clubs of the International Swimming League (ISL) to be formed. It was formed in March 2019, with an international roster of swimmers including Adam Peaty who was among the first to support the formation of ISL independent of FINA. It is run by its general manager Rob Woodhouse. London hosted the sixth of the seven meets in ISL's inaugural season in 2019. The team finished second in 2019 and third in 2020.

The Aqua Centurions is a professional swimming club and one of the original eight clubs of the International Swimming League. The team is based in Rome, IT led by General Manager Alessandra Guerra and Head Coach Matteo Giunta.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">2021 International Swimming League</span> Sports season

The 2021 International Swimming League was the third edition of the International Swimming League, a professional swimming league, established in 2019. It comprised ten teams composed of both women and men. The league, due to COVID-19 pandemic travel restrictions, consisted of a total of eighteen short course swimming meets, called matches, spanning four stages of competition and held in two locations. In each match, swimmers from four different teams competed in individual, relay, and skins events. The ten regular season matches and one play in match took place in the city of Naples, Italy. The six play off matches in the semifinals stage of competition took place in the city of Eindhoven, Netherlands, as did the final match.
