Nordic Race Walking Championships

The Nordic Junior Race Walking Championships (Norwegian : Nordisk juniormesterskap i kappgang) was an annual international racewalking competition between under-20 athletes from the Nordic countries organised by Nordic Athletics. Established in 1966 as a one-day event between Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden, it became a contest between Finland, Norway and Sweden only in 1999, then had its final edition in 2003, after which point the junior racewalking events were hosted within the main Nordic Race Walking Championships. 2011 European Race Walking Cup

The ninth edition of the European Race Walking Cup was held on the roads of Olhão, Portugal on 21 May 2011. The event was jointly organised by the Federação Portuguesa de Atletismo and the European Athletics Association. A total of 222 athletes from 26 countries participated in the competition.

Siv Gustavsson is a Swedish former racewalking athlete. She was the gold medallist at the 1981 IAAF World Race Walking Cup, making her the second ever female world champion in the sport.

Margareta Simu is a Swedish former racewalking athlete. She competed three times at the IAAF World Race Walking Cup and was the winner in 1975 and bronze medallist in 1977. On her last appearance in 1979 she placed eighth.

Thorill Gylder is a Norwegian female former racewalking athlete. A member of Vansjø/Svinndal IL sports club, she competed from the mid-1970s to the early 1980s. She competed three times at the IAAF World Race Walking Cup and after a fourth-place finish in 1975 she took the 5 km walk bronze medal.

2016 IAAF World Race Walking Team Championships 27th edition of global racewalking tournament

The 2016 IAAF World Race Walking Team Championships was the 27th edition of the global team racewalking competition organised by the International Association of Athletics Federations. It was held in Rome, Italy from 7 to 8 May 2016. It was the first edition of the tournament under its new name, having previously been known as the IAAF World Race Walking Cup since 1989.

Ann Jansson is a Swedish former racewalking athlete. She represented her country at the World Championships in Athletics, IAAF World Indoor Championships and six times at the IAAF World Race Walking Cup. She was a medallist at the European Athletics Championships in 1986.

Monica Gunnarsson is a Swedish female former racewalking athlete. She was a seven-time participant at the IAAF World Race Walking Cup, racing at every edition from 1983 to 1995. Her best finish at the competition was 14th, achieved in 1991. She also represented her country at the 1987 World Championships in Athletics, where she was sixth overall, and was eighth at the European Athletics Championships in 1986 and 1990. She was a bronze medallist at the 1987 European Athletics Indoor Championships.

Nordic Marathon Championships

The Nordic Marathon Championships was an irregularly-held men's competition over the marathon distance between athletes from the Nordic countries. All five Nordic countries took part in the competitions and all five played host to the tournament, with Iceland being the last nation to do so in 1969. Finland was the most successful nation at the championships, with only two of the race winners coming from elsewhere. The only other countries to reach the medal table were Sweden and Norway.

Nordic Junior Athletics Championships

The Nordic Junior Athletics Championships is an annual outdoor track and field competition for athletes under-20 from the Nordic countries – Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark, and Iceland. Athletes must be 19 years of age or younger by December 31 of the year the championship is held. Finland and Sweden have chosen to set a lower age limit of 18, except for athletes competing in relay races only. Norway, Denmark and Iceland have chosen not to have a lower age limit.

Established in 1957, it was a biennial competition until 2004. The events vary between road competitions and track competitions each edition. The 1975 and 1979 editions were open to non-Nordic athletes.

The Nordic Combined Events Championships was an annual two-day competition in combined track and field events between athletes from the Nordic countries organised by Nordic Athletics. Established in 1949 as a biennial event, it lasted for ten editions before holding the last competition in 1970. Men competed in the decathlon and women competed in the pentathlon. The competition was hosted alongside the Nordic Marathon Championships. The stand-alone event was merged into the main Nordic Athletics Championships competition from 1961 to 1965.

Nordic Indoor Race Walking Championships

The Nordic Indoor Race Walking Championships was a biennial one-day competition in indoor racewalking between athletes from the Nordic countries organised by Nordic Athletics. Established in 1974, it lasted for three editions before holding the last competition in 1978. The competition was held in February in even-numbered years, alternating with the Nordic Race Walking Championships held outdoors in odd-numbered years. Turku in Finland hosted the first and final editions, while Östersund in Sweden served as host for the second edition.

Nordic Womens Cup

The Nordic Women's Cup was a biennial competition in women's track and field between athletes from the Nordic countries organised by Nordic Athletics. Established in 1974, it lasted for five editions before holding the last competition in 1982. The competition was held in June or July in even-numbered years. Each of the five Nordic countries – Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden – hosted the competition during its lifetime.

Nordic Athletics is an international governing body for the sport of athletics in the Nordic countries – Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden. It is responsible for organising Nordic competitions between the nations, as well as collating Nordic records for the best performances by athletes of the nations, and holding congresses on the sport for technical rules, coaching and sport administration. Membership of the regional body is composed of the five national athletics bodies. The group also serves to influence the International Association of Athletics Federations and European Athletics in regards to Nordic issues.

Nordic Junior Combined Events Championships

The Nordic Junior Combined Events Championships is an annual outdoor combined track and field events competition for athletes under-20 from the Nordic countries – Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark, and Iceland. Athletes must be 19 years of age or younger by December 31 of the year the championship is held. Men compete in the decathlon and women compete in the heptathlon. In the early history of the competition, the women's pentathlon was held instead of heptathlon.

Nordic–Baltic Under-23 Athletics Championships

The Nordic–Baltic Under-23 Athletics Championships is an annual outdoor combined track and field events competition for athletes under-20 from the Nordic countries – and the Baltic states. It is typically held over two days in July or August in even-numbered years. Athletes must be 22 years of age or younger by December 31 of the year the championship is held. The hosting of the event is currently limited to the Nordic nations.

Nordic Indoor Athletics Match

The Nordic Indoor Athletics Match is an annual indoor track and field competition between athletes from the Nordic countries, organised by Nordic Athletics. Established in 2011, it marked a return to regular indoor competition between Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden, following on from the short-lived Nordic Indoor Athletics Championships in the late 1980s.
