Christian County is located in the southwestern part of the U.S. state of Missouri. As of the 2020 census, its population was 88,842. Its county seat is Ozark. The county was organized in 1859 and is named after William Christian, a Kentucky soldier of the American Revolutionary War.
The Ozarks, also known as the Ozark Mountains, Ozark Highlands or Ozark Plateau, is a physiographic region in the U.S. states of Missouri, Arkansas, Oklahoma and the extreme southeastern corner of Kansas. Almartha is an unincorporated community in northern Ozark County, Missouri, United States. It is located approximately thirteen miles north of Gainesville and four miles southeast of Wasola on Route 95. The village is located in a valley on a tributary of Spring Creek. Several homes are located there. The old mill and current fish hatchery of Rockbridge lies downstream on Spring Creek, about six miles to the east.

The old townsite is located on a ridge on the west side of Bryant Creek, a major tributary of the North Fork River. The old Hodgson Mill and spring lie on Bryant Creek 0.8 mi (1.3 km) to the northeast. The mill was nominated to the National Register of Historic Places as Aid-Hodgson Mill in 2001.
Souder is an unincorporated community on Spring Creek in northern Ozark County, Missouri, United States. It is thirteen miles north of Gainesville and is located on county road 142, north of Route 95.
Noble is a small unincorporated community in Ozark County, Missouri, United States. It is located on a ridge along Route A, one mile west of Route 5 and twelve miles northwest of Gainesville.

Barren Fork is a stream in Ozark County, Missouri. It is a tributary of the Little North Fork White River. The headwaters of the stream are along the west side of the Caney Mountain Conservation Area north of Gainesville. The stream flows west past Willhoit and under Missouri Route 5 continuing into the Mark Twain National Forest south of Nottinghill to its confluence with the Little North Fork White River north of Isabella. The confluence is within the waters of Bull Shoals Lake and the normal lake level is at 695 feet.

Ozark Mountain State Park is an undeveloped public recreation area covering 1,011 acres (409 ha) in Taney County, Missouri. The state park is closed pending public input on future uses of the land. It was one of three new parks announced by Governor Jay Nixon in December 2016. It shares a border with the Ruth and Paul Henning Conservation Area and is traversed by more than two miles of Roark Creek, including a stretch of the three-mile-long East Fork Roark Creek. The site includes a one-room schoolhouse that served the former community of Garber.
