The Pakistan Floorball Federation is the national sports governing body to promote and develop sport of floorball in Pakistan. The federation was established in 2003, in 2004 it was affiliated with International Floorball Federation and its continental association Asia Oceania Floorball Confederation . [1]

A sports governing body is a sports organization that has a regulatory or sanctioning function. Sports governing bodies come in various forms, and have a variety of regulatory functions. Examples of this can include disciplinary action for rule infractions and deciding on rule changes ye in the sport that they govern. Governing bodies have different scopes. They may cover a range of sport at an International level, such as the International Olympic Committee and the International Paralympic Committee, or only a single sport at a national level, such as the Rugby Football League. National bodies may or may not be affiliated to international bodies for the same sport. The first international federations were formed at the end of the 19th century.

Floorball is a type of floor hockey with five players and a goalkeeper in each team. Men and women play indoors with96–115.5 cm-long (37.8–45.5 in) sticks and a 22–23 cm-circumference (8.7–9.1 in) plastic ball with holes. Matches are played in three twenty-minute periods. Floorball was included in the World Games for the first time in [[2017World Games|2017] in Wroclaw, Poland. Sweden were the first World Games gold medal winners.

The International Floorball Federation (IFF) is the worldwide governing body for the sport of floorball. It was founded on 12 April 1986 in Huskvarna, Sweden, by the national floorball associations of Finland, Sweden and Switzerland. The Men's World Floorball Championship is an international floorball competition contested by the senior men's national teams of the members of the International Floorball Federation (IFF), the sport's global governing body. It is distinct from the Women's Floorball World Championships, which is for women's teams. They were preceded by the European Championships which were held twice in 1994 and 1995. Originally played in May-June, the IFF decided in 2007 to move the tournament to early-December starting in 2008.

The Swedish Floorball Federation is the governing body of floorball in Sweden. It was founded in Sala, Sweden 7 November 1981 and held its first annual meeting, where all 15 clubs were represented, 20 March 1982. From the season of 1983/84 the Swedish Floorball Federation became a section of the Swedish Hockey Association. After this the interest for floorball in Sweden really started to grow and lots of new clubs were founded. In 1984 there already were over 100 floorball clubs in Sweden. The 22 November 1985 the Swedish Floorball Federation was accepted as an independent association into the Swedish Sports Confederation. Floorball is a sport which is gaining popularity in India. The Floorball Federation of India was established in 2001. But due to a lack of team work they were not able to give floorball a push even after 10 years. So the "International Floorball Federation". decided to dismiss it and formed a new federation, the '"Indian Floorball Federation".' in 2012. It was a major step when Dr.Prabhat Kumar (IAS) took over the responsibility as President and made the organization transparent from the Floorball started gaining popularity day-by-day. There have been national Floorball championships held and the top most dominating Teams are Delhi and Uttrakhand. India has participated in many international friendlies and now Indian Floorball Federation is an ordinary member of International Floorball Federation. Floorball is played 5 against 5 with one goalkeeper in each team. You can have as much as 20 players in your roster and the game has two referees. The goals are 160 × 115 cm with nets and the goalkeepers normally sits on their knees. A line normally has two defenders, one center and two attackers to establish a good combination of defense and attack. The playing field is 40 x 20 meters and that is the recommended size from the IFF and the court size that all official games and tournaments are held in. Floorball is played with a rink around the field, almost like ice hockey, but the floorball rink is lower, only 50 cm high.

Sweden women's national floorball team represents Sweden in international competitions of women's floorball. The team played their first match in a world championship on 3 May 1997 against Austria in Mariehamn, Finland. The match ended in victory with 32-0 and is still the biggest victory ever in the floorball world championships. The team went unbeaten through the tournament and became the first world champions of women's floorball.
