The federation was founded in 1947, it also manages the futsal and beach soccer national teams.

Trupti is also a Commonwealth Games Bronze Medalist in Team Event at Melbourne in 2006. She, along with Saina Nehwal, reached the semi-finals of the women's doubles event in the Melbourne Commonwealth Games but lost in the Bronze Medal Playoff.

Teamed-up with Azeem Sarwar, they won the men's doubles title at the Nepal Annapurna International Badminton Championship. He was the bronze medalists at the 2016 South Asian Games in the men's singles and team events.
