The Pakistan Modern Pentathlon Federation (PMPF) is the governing body for the olympic sport of modern pentathlon in Pakistan.The Federation was formed in 2014 and has its headquarters in Lahore. [1] [2]

Modern pentathlon Five-event Olympic sport

The modern pentathlon is an Olympic sport that comprises five different events; fencing, freestyle swimming (200 m), equestrian show jumping, and a final combined event of pistol shooting and cross country running (3200 m). This last event is now referred to as the laser-run, since it alternates four legs of laser pistol shooting followed by an 800 m run. The event is inspired by the traditional pentathlon held during the ancient Olympics.

Pentathlon Combined sporting event of five contests

A pentathlon is a contest featuring five events. The name is derived from Greek: combining the words pente (five) and -athlon (competition). The first pentathlon was documented in Ancient Greece and was part of the Ancient Olympic Games. Five events were contested over one day for the Ancient Olympic pentathlon, starting with the long jump, javelin throwing, and discus throwing, followed by the stadion and wrestling. Pentathletes were considered to be among the most skilled athletes, and their training was often part of military service—each of the five events in the pentathlon was thought to be useful in war or battle.

Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) is the governing body of association football in Pakistan. Founded in 1947, its headquarters are at the FIFA Football House in Lahore, Punjab near Punjab Stadium. The PFF is a member of AFC and FIFA.

Sport in Pakistan is a significant part of Pakistani culture. Cricket is the most popular sport in Pakistan, while field hockey, polo, and squash are also popular. Guru Dutt Sondhi was a sports administrator in India, manager of the Indian Olympic team at three Olympics, founder of the Western Asiatic Games and the founder of the Asian Games Federation, which held the first Asiad. At the time of the inaugural Asian Games in New Delhi, he was the secretary of the Indian Olympic Association.

National Women Football Championship Football tournament

Akhtar Rasool is a field hockey player, captain and olympian from Pakistan who won the gold medal with the Men's National Hockey Team at the Hockey World Cup 1978, and again in 1982. He played as Center Half for the Pakistan hockey team. Akhtar is considered one of the creative geniuses in centre-half recovery and ball distribution.

Chaudhry Ghulam Rasool Pakistani field hockey player

Chaudhry Ghulam Rasul was an educationist of Pakistan as well as a field hockey Olympic player. He was originally from Faisalabad District but later settled in Lahore. Rasool was an integral part of the Pakistani field hockey team from 1956 through 1963.

Arshad Ali Chaudhry was an international field hockey player from Pakistan. He is son of Chaudhry Sadique Salar, the nephew of Chaudhry Ghulam Rasool, and cousin of Akhtar Rasool. Chaudhry was born in Faisalabad District of Punjab, Pakistan. He earned his B.A. from Government College Faislabad where he was also the captain of college hockey team. He got an M.A. in History from Punjab University, Lahore in 1973. In 1975 he was selected Assistant Manager in PIA.

The National Games of Pakistan is a multi-sport event held in Pakistan. It comprises various disciplines in which sportsmen from the different teams participate against each other. The games are organized by Pakistan Sports Board, Pakistan Olympic Association and the host province.

Pakistan Basketball Federation (PBBF) is a national governing body of basketball in Pakistan. It was founded in 1952 for the promotion and development of sport of basketball in the country.

The Pakistan Swimming Federation is the governing body of swimming in Pakistan. The Federation was formed in 1948 with its headquarters in Lahore. It has been a member of International Swimming Federation (FINA) since 1948, and was one of the founding members of the Asian Amateur Swimming Federation in 1978.

The Pakistan Archery Federation is the governing body to develop and promote the game of archery in Pakistan. It is based in Lahore, Pakistan, and was founded in 1996. It was admitted into the World Archery Federation in 2005.
