The Central Punjab Navy Command (reporting name: COMCEP [1] ), is a military command of Pakistan Navy in the Northern Pakistan, covering the area of responsibility (AOR) of defending the Punjab Province. [2] It is headquartered in PNS Punjab in Lahore, Punjab Province of Pakistan. The command is usually held by a senior flag officer of Rear Admiral rank. [1] [3] . Commander Central Punjab reports to the Vice Chief of the Naval Staff of its respected command.

The COMCEP is mandated and covers defense of the area of responsibility (AOR) of southern contingent of the country and the naval combatant logistic support system of Pakistan Navy. [2] The northern command also provides administrative and combat support in its AOR through PNS Punjab. [2]

PNS Qasim

The PNS Qasim is a major marines base that serves as the headquarter of the Pakistan Marines for their administrative, operational and logistic requirements. PNS Qasim, the garrison of Pakistan Marines, is served as the logistic base for the Marines which is responsible for general administration and naval/military logistics requirements. The Pakistan Marines Corps structure is composed of five segments, and the PNS Qasim is part of the Eastern Naval Command of Pakistan Navy. The base is named after the legendary Muslim Arab general Muhammad bin Qasim who conquered Daybul and the coastal areas of Sindh around 712 CE.

The Indo-Pakistani Naval War of 1971 consisted of a series of naval battles fought between the Indian and Pakistani Navies during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971. The battles were a part of the India-Pakistan War and the Bangladesh Liberation War. The series of naval operations began with the Indian Navy exerting pressure from the seas, while the Indian Army and Indian Air Force moved in to close the ring round East Pakistan on land. The naval operations incorporated the naval interdiction, air defence, ground support, and logistics missions.

Operation Madad (Pakistan Navy)

Operation Madad was a non-combative and assistance military operation commenced and executed by Pakistan Navy after the massive national floods hit the country. Its primary operations were to conduct SAR raids to support affected areas of Pakistan following the 2010 Pakistan floods. Madadwas the major and the largest naval operation commenced by the Pakistan Navy since the 1971 Naval conflict.

PNS Mehran attack

The PNS Mehran attack was an attack/shooting by Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and Al Qaeda which took place on 22 May 2011, at PNS Mehran, the headquarters of the Pakistan Navy's Naval Air Arm and the most populous Pakistani military installation. It is located near the PAF's Faisal Air Force Base of Karachi, Sindh. In the course of the event, 15 attackers killed 18 military personnel and wounded 16 in a sophisticated terrorist attack. Two American-built P-3C Orion surveillance aircraft were destroyed.

It is currently headquartered in the Headquarters Commander West at PNS Akram in Gwadar.
