The Senate of Pakistan has a number of committees each of which handles a specific legislative area. The committee members usually have specialized knowledge or interest in the matters under their jurisdiction. The committees monitor government activities, identify issues suitable for legislative review, gather and evaluate information, and recommend courses of action to the Senate. The number of committees has gradually increased from six during Zulfikar Ali Bhutto's government (1973–77) to fifty-two, as of 2017. There are several types of committee, with the majority (thirty-four) called the "standing committees" and others called "functional committee".

Wasim Sajjad is a Pakistani conservative politician and lawyer who served as the acting president of Pakistan for two non-consecutive terms and as the Chairman of the Senate between 1988 and 1999.
The Districts of Pakistan ; are the third-order administrative divisions of Pakistan, below provinces and divisions, but forming the first-tier of local government. In total, there are 169 districts in Pakistan including the Capital Territory and the districts of Azad Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan. These districts are further divided into Tehsils, Union Councils.
Senate of Pakistan or Aiwān-e-Bālā Pākistān, is the upper legislative chamber of the bicameral legislature of Pakistan, and together with the National Assembly makes up the Parliament of Pakistan.
The National Assembly is the lower legislative house of the bicameral Parliament of Pakistan, which also comprises the Senate of Pakistan. The National Assembly and the Senate both convene at Parliament House in Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan. The National Assembly is a democratically elected body consisting of a total of 342 members who are referred to as Members of the National Assembly (MNAs), of which 272 are directly elected members and 70 reserved seats for women and religious minorities from all over the country. A political party or a coalition must secure 172 seats to obtain and preserve a majority.
Khanewal District is a district of the Punjab province of Pakistan. According to the 1998 census of Pakistan, the district had a population of 2,068,490, of which 17.42% were urban. Khanewal is located at 30°18'0N 71°55'0E with an altitude of 128 metres.
The Chairman of the Senate of Pakistan, is the president-chair of the Senate of Pakistan. According to the Constitution of Pakistan, the chairman is a presiding official and that Senate must choose a chairman and deputy chairman for a time interval of three years.
Syed Muhammad Sabir Shah or more commonly as Pir Sabir Shah is a politician from the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan. He served as the 18th Chief Minister of the province from 20 October 1993 to 25 February 1994. He was advisor to Prime Minister of Pakistan Nawaz Sharif from 1997 to 1999. He currently serves as a Senator from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The Provincial Assembly ofKhyber Pakhtunkhwa is a unicameral legislature of elected representatives of the Pakistani province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, which is located in Peshawar, the provincial capital. It was established under Article 106 of the Constitution of Pakistan previously having a total of 124 seats, with 99 general seats, 22 seats reserved for women and 3 seats for non-Muslims. After the merger of FATA with the Province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the total seats rose from 124 to 145 by adding 16 general seats, 4 seats reserved for women and 1 reserved for a non-Muslim.
Masood Kausar is a Pakistani politician who was 28th Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He held many senior government positions including; Speaker of the Assembly, Minister for Communications, Deputy Leader of Opposition in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province and Chairman of standing committee while he was Member of the Senate of Pakistan. He is one of the founding members of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP).
Iqbal Haider was a Senior Advocate of the Supreme Court of Pakistan and the co-chairperson of the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan ("HRCP"). He was also a Senator, Federal Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs from November 1993 to December 1994, Pakistan's first Federal Minister for Human Rights and Attorney General.
Abdul Hafeez Sheikh is a Pakistani economist and politician who served as Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Affairs from 11 December 2020 to 29 March 2021. Previously, he served as an advisor to Prime Minister on Finance and Revenue from April 2019 to December 2020.
Walid Iqbal is a Pakistani politician, lawyer, law professor serving as a member of Senate of Pakistan from Punjab, Pakistan and the Chairperson of the Senate Committee on Human Rights.
Muhammad Hamza was a Pakistani politician who was a member of Senate of Pakistan from March 2012 to March 2018 and member of the National Assembly of Pakistan between 1985 and 1999. He was an elected member of the West Pakistan Legislative Assembly from 1962 to 1969. Hamza served twice as the chairman of the Public Accounts Committee of the National Assembly of Pakistan. He is known in Pakistani politics for his neutral views and fierce opposition. Hamza was considered as one of the closest aides to Fatima Jinnah, the sister of Mohammad Ali Jinnah, founding father of the nation.
The Government of Azad Kashmir is the state government which administers one of the territories of Pakistani-administered Kashmir territories of Azad Kashmir. The Azad Kashmir government consists of a president as head of state and a prime minister as chief executive, with the support of a council of ministers. The state assembly is the Azad Kashmir Legislative Assembly.
In the United States Congress, a bill is proposed legislation under consideration by either of the two chambers of Congress: the House of Representatives or the Senate. Anyone elected to either body can propose a bill. After both chambers approve a bill, it is sent to the President of the United States for consideration.
Prisons in Pakistan and their administration, is a Provincial competency under the Constitution of Pakistan. Pakistan has the 23rd largest prison population in the world and the 5th largest death row population. Around 64.5% of prisoners are awaiting trial prisoners. 98.6% of prisoners are male, 1.7% are juveniles and 1.2% of those held are foreign citizens. As of 2018 Pakistan had an official occupancy capacity for 56,499 prisoners but held 80,145 prisoners.
Since Pakistan's independence on 14 August 1947, women have been active participants in parliamentary politics. Their representation remained low in the first and second Constituent Assemblies, however the amendments to the Constitution of Pakistan paved way for their increased participation in the parliament. Besides, the progressive laws helped improve their participation in legislative and executive positions over the years. Since 2002, women politicians have notable representation in the federal as well as provincial assemblies.

On the basis of adult suffrage, National Assembly members are chosen through direct elections. The National Assembly of Pakistan is only allowed to have 342 total members of parliament or MNA. This includes 70 seats set aside for women and religious minorities from across Pakistan, and 272 members are directly elected through the election.
A Member of Parliament in the Senate of Pakistan is the representative of the Pakistani states to the one of the two houses of the Parliament of Pakistan. The National Assembly of Pakistan and Senate of Pakistan, the two houses that make up the Pakistani Parliament, are bicameral.
