The first season of the series named Pandian Stores Chapter 1 – Annan Thambikalin Kadhai (transl.Pandian Stores Chapter 1 – A Story of Brothers), premiered on 1 October 2018 and ended on 28 October 2023. It starred with an ensemble cast including Stalin Muthu, Sujitha, Venkat Renganathan, Hema Rajkumar, Kumaran Thangarajan, V. J. Chitra, Saravana Vickram and VJ Deepika in the prominent roles. Kathir Mullai played by Kumaran and Chitra were very well received by the audience becoming one of the most celebrated on screen pair.
As of October 2023, the series completion of 5+ years, a spin-off was introduced with the same title named Pandian Stores 2 / Pandian Stores Chapter 2 – Thandhai Sollmikka Manthiramilai (transl."Pandian Stores Chapter 2 – Nothing Is Better Than Father's Words". The series premiered on 30 October 2023 starring Stalin Muthu, Hema Rajkumar and Venkat Renganathan from the previous season playing different roles in addition Nirosha, Raj Kumar Manoharan, VJ Kathirvel Kandasamy, Vasanth Vasi, Akash Premkumar, Shalini and Sharanya Turadi Sundarraj in other prominent roles.
Pandian's four sons (Sathyamoorthy, Jeevanandham, Kathiravan and Jayakannan) run Pandian Stores, a famous grocery store in their hometown Kundrakudi. Dhanalakshmi, a well-educated courageous girl, enters the life of Sathyamoorthy against her family's wishes and leads the Pandian stores family to get well settled. She raises her brothers-in-law as her sons. Fifteen years later Jeeva, Kathir and Kannan are now adults. Sathyamoorthy lives happily along with his brothers Jeeva, Kathir and Kannan and his caring wife Dhanalakshmi. They run a grocery store named Pandian stores which is famous in their locality. Dhanam is often criticized by her relatives for not having children repeatedly, although her brother-in-laws did not let it affect her. Lakshmi, the brothers' mother has a brother named Murugan with whom she has not been on talking terms for years. Murugan's daughter Mullai desires to marry Jeeva. Murugan convinces Lakshmi to accept this marriage. However, Jeeva didn't like this idea of marriage as he is in love with collegemate Meena. Later he conveys this to his sister-in-law Dhanam. Dhanam gets offended when she tries to talk about this to Meena's father Janardhanan. Meena's father beats her up, so Jeeva sacrifices his love and accepts Mullai's marriage proposal. On the day of wedding Meena ran off from her house and creates a scene in the marriage hall. Later, Dhanam decides to get Mullai married to Kathir, the younger brother to Jeeva. Jeeva marries Meena and Kathir marries Mullai. Mullai blames Dhanam for ruining her life by marrying her to Kathir. But later she gets on well with her (Dhanam) when her mother berates Dhanam. Meanwhile, Meena often picks up a fight with Jeeva as she wants a lavish lifestyle. On the other hand, Dhanam and Moorthy try their best to unite Kathir and Mullai, who are at loggerheads. One day, due to some misunderstanding Janardanan (Meena's father) slaps Kannan. This enrages the family and Janardanan stops sending goods to Pandian Stores, causing a crisis for the Pandian family. Moorthy resolves to sort the things out and goes out of the town handing over the responsibility to Jeeva. Janardanan plans to make the family suffer more by sending some fake clients to Pandian stores to give a marriage order. Jeevan believes the fake clients and agrees for the order believing that Moorthy would definitely return with the goods. Moorthy returns and tells everyone that he couldn't get the goods much to Jeeva's horror. He asks Kathir and Jeeva to manage the situation with the remaining goods. But Jeeva reveals all those happened during his absence. Moorthy scolds Jeeva for being immature while Kathir takes upon himself to make the ends meet. Finally he is successful in getting the goods and Moorthy praises him which pleases Mullai and irks Meena. As time goes on, Kathir and Mullai befriend each other and Meena adjusts in the house. Meena wishes to go for a honeymoon but ends up going with the whole family except Moorthy and his mother. During this time, Kathir and Mullai grow closer. At home, Parvathy and Murugan take care of Moorthy's mother and the business respectively. But Parvathy forgets to give medicine for Lakshmi (Moorthy's mother). Though she becomes unconscious Moorthy and Murugan rush her to the hospital and is saved. Meanwhile, Kathir, Mullai, Meena, Jeeva, Dhanam and Kannan return. After their return, Mullai and Kathir share some special moments when Kathir starts to teach Mullai to ride a vehicle. They both develop feelings for each other but are unable to confess. One day when Kannan Dhanam Meena and Mullai are talking, Kannan asks Mullai about her love for Kathir. She tells them that how they used to fight with each other in the beginning and how she acted as if she cares for him to avoid the petty arguments. Kathir hears this and gets hurt. Mullai starts to express her love for Kathir to Dhanam Meena and Kannan. When Kathir returns home at night he picks up a fight with Mullai. Disheartened, Mullai leaves to her parents house. Mullai misses Kathir while he feels that he is unfit for her. Meena gets pregnant. The family is overwhelmed especially Dhanam. She takes good care of Meena and does everything to please her. Mullai returns on her birthday but Kathir has gone to Mullai's house to surprise her. When he goes there, Parvathy taunts him. On the other hand Mullai thinks that Kathir is still angry with her. Kathir waits for Mullai but leaves for home when it is late. Mullai is in their room waiting for Kathir. When Kathir comes back home, he sees Mullai but thinks that he is dreaming about Mullai. When he realizes that Mullai really came back, he struggles to wish her happy birthday but somehow wishes her seconds before twelve. Moorthy and Dhanam advise them to set things right between them. It is revealed that Dhanam and Moorthy deliberately decided not to have children as Moorthy's brothers were too young. Learning this, Dhanam's family is enraged and Jaga breaks his ties with Moorthy. Mullai learns about the great sacrifice but Dhanam stops her from informing the others about this. But somehow she reveals the truth to Kathir when he discusses about Dhanam's mother blaming Moorthy for all those Dhanam has to face. Guild -ridden, Kathir meets Jaga and assures him that he will take Dhanam to a doctor. He along with Mullai plan to get an appointment for Dhanam. On the other hand, Janardanan is enraged upon learning that Meena is pregnant and no one informed him about it. After much convincing, Janardanan agrees to meet Meena. His wife asks her to come to her house and stay for some days. Moorthy and Dhanam ask Jeeva to accompany Meena but refuses to go. Somehow, they manage to convince Jeeva and he half-heartedly leaves with Meena. Janardhan includes Jeeva in all of his business dealings. Later, Kathir and Mullai request Dhanam to come to the hospital. But she refuses. Mulla later becomes ill and isolates herself. Meena does well with the tasks. Mulla is looked after by Kathir. Soon later, Meena detects a threat to her unborn child. Janardhan afterwards lashes out at her family. Meanwhile, Kathir is detained when a moneylender disparages Mulla. Parvathy screams at Moorthy. Mulla breathes a sigh of relief as he learns about Kathir's release. They later dispute with each other. Mulla donates her jewels as payment for Murugan's debts. The family gets ready for Meena's Baby Shower. Meena goes into labor shortly after the ceremony and is blessed with a baby girl. Meena and her kid are confined to her father's home. Later, Kathir and Mulla travel to Chennai, where she understands Kathir is not guilty. Dhanam and her family go to the temple, when Kamakshi cries out, claiming that Moorthy is liable for Dhanam's infertility. Moorthy and Dhanam are confronted by Lakshmi. Dhanam is consoled by Kathir, Jeeva, and Kannan. Dhanam later arranges a nuptial night for Kathir and Mulla. After learning of her parents' deaths, the family invites Aishwarya into their home. Janardhan organises a baby naming ceremony for Meena's baby, who later receives the name 'Kayalveli'. Kayal causes Meena and Jeeva problems. Meena is concerned as Kayal sobs uncontrollably and blames Dhanam for failing to care for her. Meanwhile, Dhanam is worried and chooses to have herself tested for pregnancy. She discovers she is pregnant and decides to keep it a secret. Janardhan causes mayhem and urges Meena to stay with him. Dhanam and Moorthy later pay a visit to Meena, where Janardhan humiliates Dhanam. Moorthy becomes furious. Soon after, Dhanam informs Moorthy of her pregnancy. On Mulla's birthday, Kathir surprises her by taking her to the temple. Moorthy informs everyone about Dhanam's pregnancy. Meena returns home after discovering this. Jaga is overjoyed. The family organizes an event to commemorate Dhanam's pregnancy. Dhanam is told not to perform any housework. Mulla accepts her responsibilities. Mulla is later reprimanded by Lakshmi and Dhanam for cooking for the family recklessly. Later, Meena's aunt Rasathi pays her a visit, intending to separate her from the Pandian Stores family. Rasathi's unusual conduct irritates the family. Meena understands the truth and lashes her out the door.
PANDIAN STORES- BAAKIYALAKSHMI MAHASANGAMAM
Meanwhile, Janardhan constructs a supermarket in order to compete with Moorthy. Meena goes to her father's department store opening. in contrast. Dhanam is hospitalized as a result of Meena's irresponsibility. Moorthy misinterprets the situation and condemns Mulla. Kathir helps Mulla with the duties. Because to Janardhan's supermarket 'Meenakshi Stores,' Moorthy is losing income. Aishwarya plans to discontinue her studies owing to financial difficulties, but Kannan robs money from his house to assist Aishwarya. Mulla is held responsible for the incident. Kathir wants Kumeresan's assistance in resolving Mulla's problem. He puts the cash in the almirah. Mulla reveals to Kathir her wish for his further study and resolves to keep it a secret from the rest of the family. Mulla helps Kathir with his examinations. Malli is spotted at the temple by Dhanam, who introduces her to the family. Malli is confronted by Parvathy and Murugan. Malli introduces the family to her son Prashant. Prashant and Aishwarya get closer together. Soon, Kathir completes his exams smoothly and awaits the results. Malli decides to marry Prashant and Aishwarya. After the engagement, Aishwarya professes her love to Kannan. the family purchases a delivery truck and goes on a picnic. Mulla is overjoyed when Kathir excels in his tests. The press comes at their residence. Jaga organizes a baby shower for Dhanam. Dhanam refuses to return to her maternal home after the function. Mulla tells the family the truth about Kannan’s thievery. Kannan is despised by an enraged Moorthy. Kannan and Aishwarya later elope from their house and marry. Moorthy disowns Kannan after discovering this. Kannan and Aishwarya locate a place to live. Meanwhile, Lakshmi's health continues to deteriorate. However, Things take an unexpected turn when Lakshmi passes away. Meanwhile, Janardhan sent Kannan to Trichy on business. He remains ignorant of Laksmi's death. Before his arrival, the final rituals are conducted. Dhanam holds Kannan accountable for Laksmi's death. Dhanam later soothes her family. Kannan and Aishwarya relocate to a house opposite Pandian Stores. Meanwhile, Dhanam goes into labour. Kannan rushes to her rescue. Dhanam is blessed with a son. Meanwhile, Meena is saddened to see Kayal being ignored. Pandian is the name of Dhanam's kid. Meanwhile, Thugs assault Kannan, and Aishwarya asks Moorthy's assistance. Kannan is rescued by Kathir. Kannan and Aishwarya are welcomed into the family by Dhanam. Mulla chooses to go to the doctor about her pregnancy. Kathir discovers Mulla's infertility but maintains it a secret. Pandian Stores is closed down. Later, the entire family protests in search of justice. The family opens their supermarket. Mulla and Meena go to the doctor and understand the reality. She is distraught and leaves the house. Kathir discovers Mulla and professes his feelings for her.. Mulla later has IVF treatment. Meena is dissatisfied with the costs. Mulla soon feels devastated after the first effort fails. Dhanam's birthday is being planned by the family. Things take an unexpected turn when Janardhan dismisses Kathir. Katir and Mulla leave the house and begin to live on their own. Moorthy has a heart attack due to this. Kathir opens his own hotel. The entire family attends the hotel's inauguration in secret.. Kathir suffers a loss in the first month. However, he makes a profit in the following months. Kannan is given a new job. On Meena's advice, Moorthy chooses to sell the house to Janardhan. When he registers the house in Meena's name, the family is taken aback. Mulla urges Kathir to compete in a cookery competitionKathir and Mulla win in every tournament. Moorthy, on the other hand, becomes upset when Kathir fails to appear at the registration. Kathir is in difficulty as an opponent attempts to hurt him, but Moorthy and Jeeva arrive in time to save him. Kathir Mullai reconcile with the Pandian Stores family. Janardhan, on the other hand, demands everyone to leave the house after being insulted by Kannan. Everyone lives with Kathir and Mullai in their home. But Meena is dissatisfied of the infrastructure. The Pandian ladies manage Kathir's hotel. Pandian's birthday is celebrated by the family. Janardhan conspires against them. Janardhan decides to marry Shweta to Prashant. Meanwhile, Shweta meets with Meena to ask her to her wedding. Meena accuses Janardhan of insulting the family during the engagement. Kathir and Mulla renovate their house. Mulla is taken aback by the news that she is pregnant. She tells everyone about it. Mulla is looked after by Kathir. Ratnam, a hotel employee, undertakes a horrific crime in order to mislead clients. Later, Dhanam understands the truth and apprehends him. Dhanam accuses Moorthy and challenges him about running the hotel. Later, the family uses Mullai's financial reward to buy a new car. However, Jeeva feels ignored. Aishwarya discovers she is pregnant. Dhanam becomes pregnant too soon after. The family gets enlightened by this. Meena is in charge of all the household duties. Jeeva conveys his appreciation to Meena. Later, Jeeva expresses his emotions to Moorthy in an outburst. Shweta and Prashant's wedding is attended by the entire family. When Jeeva discovers that the brothers have gifted money individually, things take an unexpected turn. Janardhan manipulates Jeeva against his family. As a result, Jeeva and Meena leave the house. Following this, Kannan and Aishwarya also leave the house after Moorthy reprimands Kannan. Dhanam feels upset by Aishwarya's actions. Aishwarya begins to spend too much of her savings. Parvathy plans Mulla's Baby Shower. The entire family attends the event. The brothers unexpectedly dress alike. Aishwarya creates a YouTube channel in order to acquire recognition. Jeeva feels oppressed by Janardhan. Kannan is threatened by bank personnel for failing to return his loans on time. He, however, fails to do so and is beaten up. The function gets called off. Kathir seeks vengeance and gets arrested. Mulla becomes disappointed and accuses Kannan. Moorthy and Jeeva settle Kanan's debts and secure Kathir's release. Kathir extends an invitation to Kannan and Aishwarya to return home. . Mullai is on her way to the hospital when she is involved in an accident caused by Ratnam, putting her life in risk. Mullai survives and is blessed with a daughter. Ratnam is confronted and beaten by Kathir. Soon dhanam gets diagnosed with breast cancer. Meena realizes this & keeps this as a secret. The family arranges Aishwarya’s baby shower. Later Kannan is arrested by the cops for being framed as accepting bribery from the customers. Hearing this, Aishwarya goes into labour and delivers a girl child. Soon, Kannan gets bail & he meets his child. Mulla realizes the truth bout Dhanam. Mulla, Meena and Dhanam go to Trichy and perform the surgery for Dhanam in secret. The family moves to their new house where Jeeva and Meena reunite with the family. One by one, everyone in the family becomes aware of Dhanam’s misery. The family takes care of her and sacrifice everything for her. Later Prashant starts cheating Janardhan over his wealth. When Janardhan realizes this, Prashant murders his assistant and beats up Jana. Kathir and Jeeva are arrested over Kalai’s complaint. Prashant gets caught red handed and his put behind bars. After a series of events, the family reunites once again. Dhanam shares the wealth among the brothers and gives each of the brother a designation in the family. The show has a blissful ending!

Ratings
The highest TRP in week 36 the special episode of the character Meena's baby shower aired on 11 September 2020, garnered 11.462 million impressions becoming the most watched Tamil GEC program of the week and the first Star Vijay program to enter the top five.[3][4] The special three-hour episode of the naming ceremony of Meena's baby aired on 23 November 2020 in week 49 garnered 10.987 million impressions occupying third position.[5][6][7]
Kavitha Gowda was signed to play the role Meenakshi (Meena), but left the serial after making only a promo appearance. She was then replaced by Hema Rajkumar.[12]
Venkat Subha had played the role Jaganathan, but after his death, he was replaced by Ravichandran.[13]
V. J. Chitra initially played the role of Mullai. She was replaced by Kaavya Arivumani, due to her sudden death. After that, in October 2022, Kavya announced her exit in the serial. Mullai is currently played by Lavanya.[14]
Nellai Siva, a well known supporting actor, played the role Kumaresan, His character was written out of the serial after his death due to COVID-19.[15]
Vaishali Taniga initially played the role of Aishwarya but she left in December 2020 and was replaced by VJ Deepika Lakshmanapandian until September 2021. After that the role was temporarily given to Sai Gayathri, but VJ Deepika came back in March 2023 as Aishwarya.
Filming
Due to the COVID-19 outbreak in India, Pandian Stores, and all other Indian television series and films production were suspended from 27 March 2020.[16] The show commenced telecasting new episodes from 27 July 2020.[17]

On 11 September 2020, Pandian Stores held a three-hour non-stop special episode titled Pandian Stores: Kudumba Valaikappu Vizha for Meena's baby shower.[3]
On 23 November 2020, Pandian Stores Kulandaiyin Peyar Suttum Vizha held a three-hour non-stop special episode for Meena's Baby's name function.[5]
On 29 and 30 April 2021, Pandian Stores held two-and-a-half-hour non-stop special episodes titled Pandian Stores: Sathyamoorthy Dhanam Thirumana Vaibogam for Moorthy and Dhanam Marriage.[18]
From 22 to 27 July 2021, Pandian Stores celebrated Dhanalakshmi's baby shower.[19]
On 2019, Pandian Stores had a week of crossover episodes with Bharathi Kannamma (episodes 327–331).[20]
On 2021, Pandian Stores had crossover episodes with Baakiyalakshmi from February 5 to February 28.[21][22]

Metti Oli was an Indian Tamil-language soap opera that aired on weekdays on Sun TV for 811 episodes. The show starred Delhi Kumar, Kaveri, Gayathri, Vanaja, Uma Maheshwari, Revathi Priya, Chetan, Bose Venkat, Raj Kanth, Thirumurugan,Shanti Williams and Neelima Rani. It was produced by Cine Times Entertainment S.Siddiq, and written and directed by Thirumurugan. The serial was followed by Muhurtham of Cine Times Entertainment. In 2019 this show was telecast by Moon TV and during COVID-19 by Sun TV.
Kana Kaanum Kaalangal is a Tamil drama soap opera that aired in Star Vijay, Monday to Thursday, from 30 October 2006 to 28 April 2009.
