Papua New Guinea at the Men's T20 World Cup

The Papua New Guinea national cricket team is one of the associate members of the International Cricket Council (ICC), they are nicknamed as the Barramundis. Papua New Guinea qualified for their maiden T20 World Cup in 2021, after finishing as runners-up of the 2019 qualifier, the team failed to make it past the first round. They made their reappearance at the tournament in the 2024 edition. In two editions that they have participated, the team is yet to register a win in World Cup.

The Papua New Guinea men's national cricket team, nicknamed the Barramundis, is the team that represents the country of Papua New Guinea in international cricket. The team is organised by Cricket PNG, which has been an associate member of the International Cricket Council (ICC) since 1973. Charles Jordan Alewa Amini, also known as CJ Amini, is a Papua New Guinea cricketer. He is the son of Kune Amini and brother of Chris Amini, who both have also represented PNG.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">2015 World Twenty20 Qualifier</span> Cricket tournament

The 2015 ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier, for the 2016 World Twenty20, was held from 6 to 26 July 2015. The tournament was hosted by both Ireland and Scotland. 51 matches were played among 14 nations, down from 72 matches among 16 nations previously. The tournament formed part of the ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier series, with the top six teams going forward to the qualifying round of the 2016 ICC World Twenty20 tournament.

The Hong Kong cricket team and Papua New Guinea cricket team toured Australia from 8 to 13 November 2014, playing two One Day Internationals (ODI) and a three-day match. These were the first ODI matches to be played by Papua New Guinea since gaining ODI status by the International Cricket Council. Papua New Guinea won the ODI series 2–0, becoming the first country to win their first two ODI matches. The matches were played at the Tony Ireland Stadium in Townsville, which had recently been accredited as an international venue by the ICC.

The 2015–2017 ICC World Cricket League Championship was the second edition of the ICC World Cricket League Championship. It took place from 2015 until 2017, in parallel with the 2015-17 ICC Intercontinental Cup. Both Ireland and Afghanistan had been promoted to the main ICC ODI Championship and did not compete in this tournament. Instead, Kenya and Nepal were included in the tournament. The tournament was played in a round-robin format. All matches were recorded as List A matches, and those in which both teams had ODI status were also recorded as ODIs.

Asadollah Vala is a Papua New Guinea cricketer and the captain of the national side. A left-handed batsman and off spin bowler, he has played for the Papua New Guinea national team since 2005.

Lega Siaka is a Papua New Guinean cricketer, who plays for the national team mainly as a right-handed batsman.

The 2015–2017 ICC Intercontinental Cup was the seventh edition of the ICC Intercontinental Cup, an international first-class cricket tournament between leading associate members of the International Cricket Council (ICC). The tournament took place during 2015 to 2017. It ran in parallel with the 2015–17 ICC World Cricket League Championship, but with slightly different teams. As Ireland and Afghanistan had qualified for the ICC One Day International Championship ranking qualification process, they were replaced by Kenya and Nepal in the limited over event; however they continued to play the four-day event.

Chad Soper is a Papua New Guinean cricketer. Born in Port Moresby to a Papua New Guinean mother and a New Zealand father, Soper grew up on the New South Wales Central Coast.

Sese Bau is a Papua New Guinean cricketer. He made his List A debut in the 2015–17 ICC World Cricket League Championship on 24 June 2015 against the Netherlands. He made his first-class debut in the 2015–17 ICC Intercontinental Cup on 21 November 2015 against Afghanistan.

The Irish cricket team toured Australia to play Papua New Guinea from 24 January to 9 February 2016. The tour consisted of a first-class match, three Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is) and a tour match. The first-class match was part of the 2015–17 ICC Intercontinental Cup and the tour match was in preparation of the Intercontinental Cup match. Ireland won the T20I series 2–1.

The Papua New Guinea national cricket team toured Hong Kong in November 2016 to play three One Day Internationals (ODIs) matches at Mission Road Ground, Mong Kok. Hong Kong won the series 2–1.

Pauke Siaka is a Papua New Guinean cricketer. She captained the Papua New Guinea women's national cricket team in the 2017 Women's Cricket World Cup Qualifier in February 2017. In the tournament, she was the highest wicket-taker for Papua New Guinea, with 8 dismissals.

Kiplin Doriga is a Papua New Guinean cricketer. He made his One Day International (ODI) debut against Scotland on 24 November 2017. He made his first-class debut against Hong Kong in the 2015–17 ICC Intercontinental Cup on 29 November 2017.

The Papua New Guinea cricket team toured Oman in September 2021 to play two One Day International (ODI) matches against Nepal and two ODI matches against the United States. The matches were used as preparation for all three teams ahead of the Cricket World Cup League 2 series, also in Oman, which started on 13 September 2021 and 25 September 2021 respectively.

Kabua Morea is a Papua New Guinean cricketer. Morea was named in the Papua New Guinea (PNG) squads for the 2012 Under-19 Cricket World Cup and the 2014 Under-19 Cricket World Cup. He also represented PNG in the men's cricket tournament at the 2015 Pacific Games, finishing the tournament as PNG's leading wicket-taker with 12 dismissals.
