Cumberland Homesteads is a community located in Cumberland County, Tennessee, United States. Established by the New Deal-era Division of Subsistence Homesteads in 1934, the community was envisioned by federal planners as a model of cooperative living for the region's distressed farmers, coal miners, and factory workers. While the cooperative experiment failed and the federal government withdrew from the project in the 1940s, the Homesteads community nevertheless survived. In 1988, several hundred of the community's original houses and other buildings, which are characterized by the native "crab orchard" sandstone used in their construction, were added to the National Register of Historic Places as a historic district.

Halifax Historic District is a national historic district located at Halifax, Halifax County, North Carolina, US that was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1970 with an increase in 2011. It includes several buildings that are individually listed on the National Register. Halifax was the site of the signing of the Halifax Resolves on April 12, 1776, a set of resolutions of the North Carolina Provincial Congress which led to the United States Declaration of Independence gaining the support of North Carolina's delegates to the Second Continental Congress in that year.
The American Tobacco Historic District is a historic tobacco factory complex and national historic district located in Durham, Durham County, North Carolina. The district encompasses 14 contributing buildings and three contributing structures built by the American Tobacco Company and its predecessors and successors from 1874 to the 1950s. Located in the district is the separately listed Italianate style W. T. Blackwell and Company building. Other notable contributing resources are the Romanesque Revival style Hill Warehouse (1900), Washington Warehouse (1902–07), the Lucky Strike Building (1901–02), and Reed Warehouse; Noell Building ; Power Plant and Engine House (1929–39); and the Art Moderne style Fowler (1939) Strickland (1946) and Crowe (1953) buildings.
Tarboro Historic District is a national historic district located near Tarboro, Edgecombe County, North Carolina. The district encompasses 364 contributing buildings in central Tarboro. It includes a variety of industrial, commercial, residential, and institutional buildings dating from the late-18th through early-20th centuries. Located in the district are the separately listed Tarboro Town Common, The Barracks, Redmond-Shackelford House, Pender Museum, Blount-Bridgers House, Coates-Walston House, Calvary Episcopal Church and Churchyard, and the Cotton Press complex. Other notable buildings include the Morris-Powell House, Porter House, U. S. Post Office (1914), Pippen House (1870s), Dancy-Battle-Bass Clark House, Holderness House, Howard Memorial Presbyterian Church (1908-1909), W. H. Williamston Commercial Historic District is a national historic district located at Williamston, Martin County, North Carolina. The district encompasses 31 contributing buildings in the central business district of Williamston. They include notable examples of Greek Revival, Colonial Revival, and Romanesque architecture in buildings dated from the mid-19th century through the 1920s. Located in the district is the separately listed Martin County Courthouse. Other notable buildings include the Docton W. Bagley Building, (former) People's Bank (1917), Watts Theatre, the Tar Heel Apartments (1921), the Flatiron Building, and the United States Post Office (1938). The post office contains a mural, First Flight of the Wright Brothers at Kitty Hawk, by Philip von Saltza, painted in 1940 as part of the Works Project Administration's mural project.

The district developed from the mid-19th to mid-20th century, and includes notable examples of Late Victorian and Colonial Revival style architecture. Notable buildings include the Rogers-McDade House, Eno Presbyterian Church (1897-1899), Cedar Grove Methodist Church (1939), Allison-Oliver-Pender Store (1880s), and Allen A. Ellis Store (1923).

Pender County Courthouse is a historic courthouse located at Burgaw, Pender County, North Carolina. It was built in 1936, and is a three-story, "H"-shaped, brick-veneered Georgian Revival style building. The building consists of a hipped roofed main block flanked by projecting gable-roofed wings.
