Omar Eliezer Alonfzo (born August 3,2003) is a Venezuelan-American professional baseball catcher in the Pittsburgh Pirates organization.
Alfonzo grew up in both Minneapolis and in Venezuela. [1] He signed with the Pittsburgh Pirates as a free agent in 2019. [2] He made his professional debut in 2021 with the Dominican Summer League Pirates and hit .232 with two home runs over 39 games. Alfonzo spent the 2022 season with the Florida Complex League Pirates and batted .144 over 33 games.
Alfonzo played the 2023 season with the Complez League and also played with the Bradenton Marauders,batting .275 with five home runs and 42 RBIs over sixty games. [3] In 2024,he started the season with Bradenton and was promoted to the Greensboro Grasshoppers in August. [4] Over 110 games,he hit .252 with 13 home runs and 46 RBIs. Brandan Bidois (born June 21,2001) is an Australian professional baseball pitcher in the Pittsburgh Pirates organization.
Bidois signed with the Pittsburgh Pirates as an international free agent in 2019. [9] In 2020,he played with the Brisbane Bandits of the Australian Baseball League. [10] Bidois made his minor league debut in 2021 with the Florida Complex League Pirates. He missed the 2022 season due to injury but returned to play in 2023 with the Bradenton Marauders. In 2024,he played with the Greensboro Grasshoppers and also appeared in one game for the Indianapolis Indians.
Bidois was eligible for the 2024 Rule 5 draft but went unselected. [11] Bidois was a non-roster invitee to 2025 spring training and was named to Pittsburgh's Spring Breakout roster. Jase Callaway Bowen (born September 2,2000) is an American professional baseball outfielder who is a free agent.
Bowen attended Central Catholic High School in Toledo,Ohio. [15] He was drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 11th round of the 2019 Major League Baseball draft. He signed with the Pirates rather than play college baseball and college football at Michigan State University. [16] [17] [18] He made his professional debut that year with the Gulf Coast Pirates.
Bowen did not play in 2020 due to the Minor League Baseball season being cancelled because of the COVID-19 pandemic. He returned in 2021 to play for the Bradenton Marauders and played 2022 with Bradenton and the Greensboro Grasshoppers. [19] After the season,Bowen played in the Australian Baseball League for the Sydney Blue Sox. He started 2023 with Greensboro before being promoted to the Altoona Curve.
He elected free agency on November 6,2025. [20]

Brannigan attended Marist High School in Chicago,Illinois and played college baseball at the University of Notre Dame. Brannigan was drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the third round of the 2022 Major League Baseball draft. Fellows attended Joliet Catholic Academy in Joliet,Illinois and Vanderbilt University,where he played college baseball for the Vanderbilt Commodores. [27] [28] He was selected by the San Diego Padres in the sixth round of the 2019 Major League Baseball draft. [29] He did not play in 2019 after being diagnosed with non-hodgkins lymphoma. [30] [31] He did not play in 2020 due to the cancellation of the minor league season. [32]
On January 19,2021,Fellows was traded to the Pittsburgh Pirates in a three team trade that also sent David Bednar,Omar Cruz,Hudson Head and Endy Rodríguez to the Pirates,Joe Musgrove to the Padres and Joey Lucchesi to the New York Mets. [33] He made his professional debut with the Florida Complex League Pirates and the Bradenton Marauders,but pitched only 11+2⁄3 innings due to an elbow injury. [34]

Randy Labaut (born October 1,1996) is a Cuban professional baseball pitcher in the Pittsburgh Pirates organization.
Labaut was selected by the Cleveland Indians in the 35th round,with the 1,060th overall selection,of the 2019 Major League Baseball draft. [48] He made his professional debut with the rookie–level Arizona League Indians,recording a 1.74 ERA in 11 games. Labaut did not play in a game in 2020 due to the cancellation of the minor league season because of the COVID-19 pandemic. [49]
He returned to action in 2021 with the Single–A Lynchburg Hillcats,posting a 3.09 ERA with 58 strikeouts across 22 appearances. Malone attended Porter Ridge High School in Indian Trail,North Carolina [55] before transferring to IMG Academy in Bradenton,Florida for his senior year. [56] [57] [58] At IMG,he was recorded throwing as high as 97 miles per hour. [59] He committed to play college baseball at the University of North Carolina.
Malone was drafted by the Arizona Diamondbacks in the first round of the 2019 Major League Baseball draft,making him one of only three high school pitchers selected in the first round of the 2019 draft. [60] [61] [62] He signed for $2.2 million. [63] [64] After signing,he was assigned to the Arizona League Diamondbacks,going 1–2 with a 5.14 ERA over seven innings. On January 27,2020,the Diamondbacks traded Malone and Liover Peguero to the Pittsburgh Pirates in exchange for Starling Marte and cash considerations. Blake Andrew Townsend (born 5 April 2001) is an Australian professional baseball pitcher in the Pittsburgh Pirates organization.
Townsend signed with the Seattle Mariners as an international free agent on 19 June 2018. [101] He made his professional debut in 2019 with the rookie-level Arizona League Mariners. Townsend did not play in a game in 2020 due to the cancellation of the minor league season because of the COVID-19 pandemic. [102]
Townsend returned to action in 2021 with the rookie-level Arizona Complex League Mariners and High-A Everett AquaSox,posting an 0-1 record and 4.11 ERA with 26 strikeouts over five games (three starts). [103] He split the 2022 campaign between the ACL Mariners,the Single-A Modesto Nuts,Everett,and the Triple-A Tacoma Rainiers. In 20 appearances for the four affiliates,Townsend accumulated a 2-2 record and 4.60 ERA with 37 strikeouts across 29+1⁄3 innings pitched. [104]
In 2023,Townsend made 35 appearances out of the bullpen for Modesto,registering a 4-3 record and 3.38 ERA with 55 strikeouts and one save across 48 innings of work. [105] He began the 2024 season with Everett,recording a 2.45 ERA with 30 strikeouts in 28 appearances. Townsend was released by the Mariners organization on 5 August 2024. [106]
On 21 August 2024,Townsend signed a minor league contract with the Pittsburgh Pirates organization. [107] He made five appearances down the stretch for the Double-A Altoona Curve,posting a 1-0 record and 2.00 ERA with six strikeouts over nine innings of work. Townsend elected free agency following the season on 4 November. [108]
On 12 February 2025,Townsend re-signed with the Pirates organization on a new minor league contract.

The Nationals signed Yean as an international amateur free agent out of the Dominican Republic in July 2017,giving him a $100,000 signing bonus. After beginning his professional career in the Dominican Summer League in 2018,Yean advanced to Class A Short Season ball in 2019,pitching for the Auburn Doubledays.
