Abdul Qawi ibni Mohamed Bolkiah (born 27 January 1974) is a member of the Brunei royal family. He is a nephew of the current Sultan of Brunei, Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah.
Prince Abdul Qawi was born in Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei on 27 August 1974 as the second child and eldest son of Paduka Seri Pengiran Perdana Wazir Sahibul Himmah Wal-Waqar Pengiran Muda Mohamed Bolkiah and Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Zariah. [1]
Prince Abdul Qawi received his early education at St. Andrew's School, Bandar Seri Begawan. He continued his higher education at the Paduka Seri Begawan Sultan Science College until he completed his secondary education and passed the GCEO Level. He then went to study at St Andrew's College, United Kingdom for his GCE A Level and later continued his studies at Queen Mary and Westfield College, University of London, United Kingdom. He obtained the degree of Bachelor of Politics with Business Management. He has also attended the Singapore Armed Forces' (SAF) Commando School. [2] [3]
Upon graduating, in 1998, Prince Abdul Qawi served Research Officer at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Brunei Darussalam. He resigned in 2000 and ventured into business. His past experience was a member of Baiduri Group and director of Baiduri Bank from 2000 to 2010. He was on the ASEAN Business Advisory Council from 2002 to 2012.[ citation needed ]
He was formerly the Chairman of The Brunei Hotel. He was also the Non-Executive Chairman at KLW Holdings Limited and Deputy and Executive Chairman of QAF Brunei Sdn. Bhd. [4]
Currently, Prince Muda Abdul Qawi holds the position of Non-Executive Chairman at HS Optimus Holdings Ltd., chairman for National Insurance Co. Bhd., chairman at Everon Sdn. Bhd., Chairman of QOS Sdn. Bhd. and chairman at Supremo Management Services Sdn. Bhd. He is also Member of East-Asia Business Council, Member of Confederation of Asia-Pacific Chambers of Commerce & Industry and Member of Insead East Asia Council. [5] [6]
The Minister for Defence Teo Chee Hean invited Crown Prince Al-Muhtadee Billah, to pay an official visit to Singapore from 8 to 12 March 2005. He would go with his wife, Princess Sarah and Prince Abdul Qawi. [8] On 18 May 2016, he was leading an international business group looking for investment prospects in the central province of Thanh Hoa, was given a welcome by State President Tran Dai Quang. Investors from Canada, Singapore, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Spain will invest in Thanh Hoa Province in particular and in energy, infrastructure, and industrial parks, according to him. [9]
He had previously played and captained QAF FC in 2007, where they became champions of the 2007–08 Brunei Premier League. [10]
The equestrian polo competition at the 2017 SEA Games, Kuala Lumpur began on 22 August at the Putrajaya Equestrian Park. According to the list of competing teams, four of the seven players mentioned in the Brunei polo squad—Prince Abdul Mateen Bolkiah, Princess Azemah Ni'matul Bolkiah, Prince Bahar Bolkiah, and Prince Abdul Qawi. On 27 June 2013, Prince Abdul Qawi married Tengku Amalin A'ishah Putri, the youngest child and only daughter of Sultan Ismail Petra, the 28th Sultan of Kelantan, and Raja Perempuan Tengku Anis at Istana Mahkota in Kubang Kerian, Kelantan.
From their marriage, the royal couple has four children. On 13 April 2014, the royal couple welcomed their first child, a princess named Pengiran Anak TengkuAfeefah Musyafaah Bolkiah Putri. Their second child, a daughter, Pengiran Anak TengkuAzzahra Iffatul Bolkiah Putri, was born on 24 June 2016. A third child, a daughter named Pengiran Anak TengkuZaafirah Muizzah Bolkiah Putri was born on 12 February 2020. A fourth child and first son, Pengiran Anak TengkuAbdul Muhaimin Bolkiah Petra was born on 26 June 2022. [12]

Mohamed Bolkiah ibni Omar Ali Saifuddien III is a member of the royal family of Brunei. He is the second son of Omar Ali Saifuddien III, the 28th Sultan of Brunei, and Raja Isteri (Queen) Pengiran Anak Damit. After Brunei's independence in 1984, he became the country’s first foreign minister, serving from 1 January 1984 until 22 October 2015, alongside the second Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Lim Jock Seng.
Omar Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien was the 28th Sultan of Brunei, reigning from 1950 until his abdication in 1967 to his oldest son, Hassanal Bolkiah.
Al-Muhtadee Billah ibni Hassanal Bolkiah is the eldest son of Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah and his wife Queen Saleha. He is the Crown Prince of Brunei Darussalam, and is first in the line of succession to the Bruneian throne. Paduka Seri Begawan Sultan Science College is a government secondary school and sixth form college in Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei. It was founded in 1966 and is named after the 28th Sultan of Brunei, Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddien III.
Sultan Ismail Petra ibni Almarhum Sultan Yahya Petra was the 28th Sultan of Kelantan and the 11th Sultan of Modern Kelantan who reigned from 30 March 1979 to 13 September 2010. He succeeded on the death of his father, Sultan Yahya Petra. He was succeeded by his eldest son, Sultan Muhammad V who ascended the throne on 13 September 2010 after being deemed incapacitated. Sultan Ismail Petra died at the Raja Perempuan Zainab II Hospital in Kota Bharu on 28 September 2019, aged 69, after 10 years of suffering from a massive stroke and was buried at the Kelantan Royal Mausoleum.
Pengiran Anak Saleha is a member of the royal family as the wife of Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah. She is the daughter of Pengiran Anak Mohamed Alam and Pengiran Anak Besar. After her husband was crowned as the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei, she succeeded her mother-in-law, Pengiran Anak Damit, as Raja Isteri. She is the mother of Crown Prince Al-Muhtadee Billah.
Masna Bolkiah binti Omar Ali Saifuddien III is the sister of Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah. Princess Masna Bolkiah is considered the third most important living woman in Brunei Darussalam after Queen Saleha and Crown Princess Sarah.
Muhammad Ali ibni Muhammad Hasan, also known as Marhum Tumbang Di Rumput, was the 13th Sultan of Brunei. His murder would later go on to spark the beginning of the Brunei Civil War between his killer and Sultan Muhyiddin, which a protracted civil war of succession that broke out and lasted for several years.
Abdul Malik ibni Hassanal Bolkiah is the third son of Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah by his first wife, Queen Saleha, thus making him a prince of Brunei. The Royal Brunei Mausoleum is a Royal Mausoleum of Brunei located at Jalan Tutong, Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei. The Mausoleum is the main resting place and burial ground for several Sultans of Brunei and members of the Royal Family. The Royal Mausoleum was opened during the reign of Sultan Omar 'Ali Saifuddin I who later became the first monarch to be buried in the Mausoleum when he died in 1795.
The Ministry of Defence Brunei Darussalam, officially abbreviated as MinDef, is a cabinet-level ministry of the Government of Brunei. It is responsible for the national security and its military forces within the sultanate of Brunei Darussalam; the latter collectively known as the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF); Angkatan Bersenjata Diraja Brunei, (ABDB). MinDef is Brunei's ministry of defence; and was established on 1 January 1984, when Brunei Darussalam achieved independence from the United Kingdom. The Ministry of Defence leadership presently consists of a minister ; its incumbent is the Sultan of Brunei, Hassanal Bolkiah, who is also the Supreme Commander of the RBAF / ABDB. A deputy minister is second-in-command at the Ministry of Defence.
The Most Esteemed Family Order of Laila Utama is an order of Brunei. It was established on 1 March 1954 by Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddien III. The order carries the post-nominal letters "DK" or "DK I" as well as the title "Dato Laila Utama".
The Royal Family Order of the Crown of Brunei is an order of Brunei. It was established on 15 August 1982 by Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah. The order carries the post-nominal letters "DKMB".
Pengiran Anak Besar was a member of the royal family as the wife of Pengiran Anak Mohammad Alam and the mother of Pengiran Anak Saleha, the queen consort of Hassanal Bolkiah, the 29th Sultan of Brunei.
Tengku Amalin A'ishah Putri binti Almarhum Sultan Ismail Petra is a member of the Kelantan royal family who is the Tengku Maharani Putri. She is the youngest sibling and only sister of the current Sultan of Kelantan, Sultan Muhammad V.
Pengiran Anak Damit was the Queen of Brunei as the wife of the 28th Sultan of Brunei, Omar Ali Saifuddien III.
Pengiran Anak Abdul Aziz is a nobleman and formerly a police officer from Brunei who previously served as the Controller of the Royal Customs and Excise of Brunei, member of the Royal Succession Council, member of the Royal Council, and the Chief of Jabatan Adat Istiadat Negara. He was one of the concept contributors for the change in the name of the Police Force to the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) as a Royal Dignitary, a State Dignitary, and a Member of Councils. Notably, he also made changes to the flag, the pattern, and the uniform color of the department's officers and staffs during his tenure as the Controller of the Royal Customs and Excise.
The Kelantan royal family consists of the family members of the Sultan of Kelantan. It currently consists of Muhammad V of Kelantan and his close relations.
