Project Runway Canada is a Gemini Award-winning [1] Canadian television adaptation of the American reality television series Project Runway , which debuted on the Slice network on October 8, 2007. The second season aired on Global. [2] The series' host is fashion model Iman, while Canadian designer Brian Bailey acts as the contestants' mentor. The series was canceled after the second-season finale. [3]

Format

Project Runway Canada uses the same format as the U.S. version of Project Runway that aired for five seasons on the Bravo network and is currently airing in the Lifetime network.

Season 1

This was the debut season of Project Runway and aired from October 8, 2007 to December 12, 2007 on the Slice network. The show won the 'Best Reality Program or Series' award at the 23rd Gemini Awards. The winner of the season was Evan Biddell who won $100,000 to start a line, a portfolio photo shoot with L'Oreal Paris and a spread with Elle Canada magazine featuring the winning model, Ashley Heart.

Season 2

Season 2 aired on Global. The winner of the season was Sunny Fong, winning the cover and a feature spread in ELLE Canada with winning model Victoria, a professional portfolio photo shoot courtesy of L'Oréal Paris, a 'Runway to Retail' business mentorship with Winners, and $100,000 to start his own fashion line.

Project Runway gave Bravo one of its most successful series since Queer Eye for the Straight Guy.

<i>Project Runway</i> (season 2) Season of television series

Project Runway Season 2 was the second season of Bravo's successful Project Runway, a reality competition for fashion designers. Season 2 began airing on December 7, 2005. Following a nationwide search earlier in the year, sixteen designers were chosen as semi-finalists and brought to New York City in June 2005. After the first challenge, called "Road To The Runway", fourteen went on to compete as finalists. The winning designer, Chloe Dao, received $100,000 in seed money to help launch her own line, a 2007 Saturn Sky roadster, a spread in ELLE magazine, and a mentorship with the Banana Republic Design Team. Winning alongside Dao was her model, Grace Kelsey, who received the ELLE Magazine spread. Michael Kors and Nina Garcia returned as judges for the second season. The fourth judging seat rotated each week, based on the challenge. Tim Gunn, fashion chair at Parsons The New School for Design, returned as a mentor for the designers.

<i>Project Runway</i> (season 3) Season of television series

Project Runway Season 3 was the third season of Project Runway, Bravo's successful reality competition for fashion designers. The third season of the show, with Heidi Klum returning as the host and Tim Gunn as the designers' guide, began airing on July 12, 2006. This broke tradition from the previous two seasons, which premiered in December, with the finales taking place at Olympus Fashion Week in February.

Top Design is an American reality television series. Interior designers competed to win cash and receive a spot in New York's Designer showcases. The first season premiered on January 31, 2007, following the season finale of Top Chef. Todd Oldham was the host, while famed potter and interior designer Jonathan Adler was lead judge. Kelly Wearstler and Margaret Russell also served as judges. Matt Lorenz was declared the winner. Although the first season received poor ratings, Bravo decided to air a second season starting September 3, 2008, with India Hicks as host and Oldham serving in the role of mentor, similar to Tim Gunn on Project Runway. Adler, Wearstler, and Russell returned as judges.

Designerspirene was a Norwegian reality television series that focused on fashion design. The show is aired on TV3 and is based on the American format, Project Runway hosted by Heidi Klum. Project Runway has been Emmy-nominated for "Outstanding reality-competition program" in 2005 and 2006. The show has only had one season in 2007 with no plans for a renewal.

Project Runway Season 4 was the fourth season of Project Runway, Bravo's reality competition for fashion designers. The season premiered November 14, 2007. Returning as judges were supermodel Heidi Klum; fashion designer Michael Kors; and Nina Garcia, Elle magazine fashion director. Tim Gunn, chief creative officer at Liz Claiborne, Inc., again acts as a mentor to the contestants.

Brian Bailey is a Toronto, Ontario, Canada based fashion designer. He designs for women and has bridal and evening collections in addition to day-wear and ready-to-wear, sportswear and plus sizes.

Project Runway Korea was the South Korean version of the American reality show Project Runway. It was Korean television's first localized franchise from a foreign-language reality competition, and the third Project Runway version in Asia after Malaysia and the Philippines.

Project Runway Canada Season 1 is the first season of Project Runway Canada, a reality competition show for fashion designers that is part of the Project Runway franchise. It aired in late 2007 on the Slice channel, which had relaunched earlier that year. The season received critical acclaim, and won the 2008 Gemini Award for Best Reality Program or Series. Project Runway Canada gave Slice one of its most successful series since the launch of its new branding.

The second season of Project Runway Canada, Global's reality competition show for fashion designers, was the first season to air on the Global network, since the show stopped airing on Slice. The season premiered on January 27, 2009.

<i>Project Runway Philippines</i> Television series

Project Runway Philippines is the Philippine adaptation of the American reality show Project Runway. This reality television series, which aims to find "the next big Filipino fashion designer," is produced by Solar Entertainment Corporation and Unitel Productions. It is shown on ETC. The series has an erratic airing schedule, as seasons 1 and 2 aired in 2008 and 2009, season 3 in 2012, and season 4 in 2015. The show was hosted by model and actress Teresa Herrera during the first two seasons. She was replaced by Filipina fashion legend Tweetie de Leon. Fashion designer Jojie Lloren serves as mentor since the first season while Filipino top model and lifestyle feature writer Apples Aberin and fashion designer Rajo Laurel complete the judging panel. The series fourth season ended on September 20, 2015.

<i>Hrvatski Top Model</i> (season 2) Season of television series

Hrvatski Top Model Season 2 is the second Season of the reality documentary based on Tyra Banks' America's Next Top Model. After an absence of more than two years the show returned on October 3, 2010, with a completely new channel and Vanja Rupena as the new host. The winner will receive a contract with Talia Modelsas well as a spread in the Croatian issue of Elle Magazine.

Project Runway Latin America is a Latin American reality television series on Glitz* which focuses on fashion design and is hosted by model Rebecca de Alba. The contestants compete with each other to create the best clothes and are usually restricted in time, materials and theme. Their designs are judged, and one or more designers are eliminated each week. The show was canceled after its third season.
