Diana Eng (born in Jacksonville, Florida) is a Chinese-American fashion designer, author and fashion technologist based in New York. She is best known as contestant on the second season of the reality television program Project Runway . Eng is a co-founder of an art/electronic group called NYC Resistor, and authored a book called Fashion Geek. [1]
She attended Stanton College Preparatory School and later the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD). She graduated with a BFA from RISD in Apparel Design in 2005. [2] [3] In 2005, prior to graduation she participated in Seamless: Computational Couture, a fashion show hosted by Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) with fellow RISD grad Emily Albinski, together they designed a dress that with the push of a button would inflate into a ball gown shape. [4] [3] Shortly after the Seamless: Computational Couture show, she appeared on Project Runway.
During the on the second season of the reality television program Project Runway, in the fifth episode, in which designers had to create a party dress for Nicky Hilton, contestant Daniel Vosovicreferred to her as "Dirty Diana" because of the way she danced at the party.
Eng was eliminated in the sixth episode, during the Banana Republic challenge, along with fellow contestant Marla Duran.
In the finale, Chloe Dao picked Diana to help with the final challenge of designing an additional garment. Chloe was selected as the winner of Project Runway Season 2.
Eng's work has been featured on the cover of i-D magazine and in The Boston Globe . Eng held a major fashion show after the success of Project Runway and had model Diana Georgie as the opening catwalker.
Diana, who helped popularize the term "Fashion Nerd," earned top honors at Yahoo!'s 2006 "Hack Day". [5]
The winning project, called Blogging In Motion, combined a camera, a handbag, a pedometer and the Flickr API to create a device that takes a picture after every few steps and then automatically blogs those pictures. The device was created by Diana Eng, Emily Albinski and Audrey Roy, pictured to the right along with the device.

Diana Eng holds an Amateur Radio license with the call-sign KC2UHB [8] and has made instructional ham-radio videos. [9] [10] In March 2010, she joined the ARRL Public Relations committee. [11]
In February 2010, she held a one-woman fashion show at Eyebeam entitled "The Fairytale Fashion Collection" featuring garments with EL wire, LEDs and various sensors. [12]
In 2013, she was featured in CNN's The Next List where she demonstrated her use of integrated conductive thread that enables a dress to light up without any traditional wiring. In this episode, Diana Eng was filmed shopping for inspiration at CJS Sales in the garment Center of NYC [13]

Project Runway is an American reality television series that premiered on Bravo on December 1, 2004. The series focuses on fashion design. It was created by Eli Holzman and was hosted by Heidi Klum from 2004 to 2017. It has a varied airing history, with Bravo originating the first five seasons, followed by Lifetime for eleven more. The show has had over 30 international adaptations.

Project Runway Season 2 was the second season of Bravo's successful Project Runway, a reality competition for fashion designers. Season 2 began airing on December 7, 2005. Following a nationwide search earlier in the year, sixteen designers were chosen as semi-finalists and brought to New York City in June 2005. After the first challenge, called "Road To The Runway", fourteen went on to compete as finalists. The winning designer, Chloe Dao, received $100,000 in seed money to help launch her own line, a 2007 Saturn Sky roadster, a spread in ELLE magazine, and a mentorship with the Banana Republic Design Team. Winning alongside Dao was her model, Grace Kelsey, who received the ELLE Magazine spread. Michael Kors and Nina Garcia returned as judges for the second season. The fourth judging seat rotated each week, based on the challenge. Tim Gunn, fashion chair at Parsons The New School for Design, returned as a mentor for the designers.
Anina, also known by the pseudonym Anina net, is an American-born German international fashion model, conference speaker, blogger, wearables developer, and event producer. She is listed as #7 in the Top 100 Women in Wearable and Consumer Tech and is the CEO and founder of 360Fashion Network. Anina progressed from being a model to a fashion industry pioneer when she developed Intel Curie-powered shape-shifting robot dresses. She developed for Intel the 360Fashion Network's smart gloves worn by 162 dancers on CCTV's Chinese New Year Festival Gala show, "Spring Wind" performance. The gloves were powered by Intel's Curie, with the LED light pattern generated using gesture recognition. PBS Television shot a documentary about Anina, who was interviewed by Robert Cringely at the start of 360Fashion Network as the first fashion blogger network. PBS Television's Nerd TV interviewed Anina as the ninth guest and the first woman in the series about the future of mobile technology. CRI Radio in China filmed a documentary titled "My China Life". CNet wrote, "In blogs, and Anina, we trust" citing her as one of the star attractions at Les Blogs 2.0.
Project Runway Australia is a reality television show based on the American program Project Runway, wherein fashion designers residing in Australia compete by making specific garments for weekly challenges. The show features Megan Gale as the host, and Peter Morrissey and Claudia Navone as judges. Alex Perry acts as a mentor to the contestants, as Tim Gunn does in the American version. Production began in May 2008, and the show premiered on Arena 8.30 p.m. (AEST) Monday 7 July 2008. The show ended after 4 seasons, with the final season airing on 17 December 2012.

Project Runway Middle East, is the Arabian version of the successful American reality TV show Project Runway. The show premiered on September 4, 2016 on MBC Group. The show features 12 Arabian designers who compete to become "the next big Arab designer". The contestants compete with each other to create the best clothes and are restricted in time, materials and theme. Their designs are judged, and one or more designers are eliminated each week. During each season, selected competitors are progressively eliminated based on the judges' scores until only a few contestants remain; these finalists prepare a complete fashion collection, from which a winner is determined. Each episode welcomes a celebrity guest judge that will contribute in the decision making.
The first season of Next Top Model by Cătălin Botezatu premiered on Thursday February 3, 2011 at 20:20 on Antena 1. The competition was hosted by Romanian fashion designer Cătălin Botezatu making him the fifth male host of the Next Top Model franchise.
