Pure McCartney is a live DVD/CD and DVD/2-LP album by singer-songwriters Tim Christensen,Mike Viola,and Tracy Bonham,with the band The Damn Crystals,released in 2013.
Pure McCartney contains a recording of a one-off tribute concert at Vega in Copenhagen in celebration of Sir Paul McCartney's 70th birthday that day. [1]
Bassist Søren Koch once saw Viola play in New York,and thought that he had a strong musical match with Christensen,so he introduced the two. [2] Christensen and Viola found out that the 1971 McCartney album Ram is their mutual favorite album,and the idea arose to hold a concert in honor of McCartney's 70th birthday on 18 June 2012. [3] The set list consisted of songs from Ram alongside several other post-Beatles songs. [4] Vega's large concert hall,with a capacity of 1,500,was sold out. [5]
The concert was filmed and released eight months after the show on DVD/CD and DVD/2-LP,featuring artwork inspired by Ram by Paul "Yellow1" Wilson,who has previously done work on several other releases of Christensen and his band Dizzy Mizz Lizzy.
Noel Gallagher was planned to become a surprise guest. [2] Christensen and Gallagher appeared on Danish television,where they were competing in a small quiz about The Beatles. They got along well with each other backstage and also talked about the McCartney concert,but they never heard back from Gallagher's manager. [2]

Peter Michael McCartney, previously known professionally as Mike McGear, is an English performing artist and photographer who was a member of the groups the Scaffold and Grimms. He is the younger brother of former Beatle Paul McCartney.
Ram is the only album credited to the husband-and-wife music duo Paul and Linda McCartney, released on 17 May 1971 by Apple Records. It was recorded in New York with guitarists David Spinozza and Hugh McCracken, and future Wings drummer Denny Seiwell. Three singles were issued from the album: "Uncle Albert/Admiral Halsey", "The Back Seat of My Car" and "Eat at Home." The recording sessions also yielded the non-album single "Another Day."
Wild Life is the debut studio album by the British-American rock band Wings and the third studio album by Paul McCartney after the breakup of the Beatles. The album was recorded in eight days, from 25 July to 2 August 1971, at EMI Studios by McCartney, his wife Linda, session drummer Denny Seiwell, whom they had worked with on the McCartneys' previous album Ram, and guitarist Denny Laine, formerly of the English rock band the Moody Blues. Dizzy Mizz Lizzy is an alternative rock band from Denmark formed in 1988. The power trio consists of Tim Christensen, Martin Nielsen and Søren Friis (drums). Between 1994 and 1997, they were highly successful in Denmark and Japan and are credited for heading the 1990s rock revival in Denmark with their studio albums Dizzy Mizz Lizzy (1994) and Rotator (1996). After the group disbanded in 1998, Christensen started a successful solo career.

Each song is interspersed with interviews regarding the Beatles' banning in the Soviet Union in the 1960s, and how fans had to spend large sums of money on buying records from the black market. It is considered the transitional work between the music he made with Dizzy Mizz Lizzy and his solo music. Before its release, Christensen described the album as: "a rock album with material that is more timeless rather than time-typical [as was the case with Dizzy Mizz Lizzy] with room for solid rock, a glittery edge, and some ballads." Hallen on 16–17 April 2010, it documents the band's finale of their 2010 reunion tour. Performing at this venue has a special connotation to the band members, who grew up nearby and saw concerts of their musical heroes growing up. The original building was destroyed by a fire 1.5 years later. The album was released on 8 November 2010 as 2CD/DVD and 2CD/Blu-ray. The album was released on 25 November 2011 on CD and as music download. The vinyl release was delayed to 20 December 2011 due to printing issues affecting quality. A Japanese bonus edition was released on 23 May 2012.
