Sham Shui Po is an area of Kowloon,Hong Kong,situated in the northwestern part of the Kowloon Peninsula,north of Tai Kok Tsui,east of Cheung Sha Wan and south of Shek Kip Mei (石硤尾). It is located in and is the namesake of the Sham Shui Po District.
The Mainland Travel Permit for Hong Kong and Macao Residents,also colloquially referred to as a Home Return Permit or Home Visit Permit,is issued to Chinese nationals who are permanent residents of or settled in Hong Kong and Macau as the travel document to Mainland China. The permit is issued by the Exit and Entry Administration of the People's Republic of China through China Travel Service sub-branches in Hong Kong and Macau and allows holders to travel freely to mainland China.

The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China passport is a passport issued only to permanent residents of Hong Kong who also hold Chinese citizenship. In accordance with the Basic Law of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region,since the transfer of sovereignty on 1 July 1997,the passport has been issued by the Immigration Department of the Government of Hong Kong under the authorisation of the Central People's Government of the People's Republic of China. As the official languages of Hong Kong are Chinese and English,the passport is printed bilingually in both Chinese and English.
The British Nationality Selection Scheme,usually known in Hong Kong as simply the British Nationality Selection Scheme (BNSS),was a process whereby the Governor of Hong Kong invited certain classes of people,who were permanent residents of Hong Kong with the right of abode,and who were also considered British nationals under the British Nationality Act 1981,but were not British citizens,to apply to be considered and then be selected to become registered as British citizens under the British Nationality Act 1990.

A People's Republic of China Permit for Proceeding to Hong Kong and Macao,or One-way Permit,is a document issued by the People's Republic of China allowing residents of mainland China to leave the mainland permanently to settle in Hong Kong or Macau.
New immigrants in Hong Kong generally refers to migrants from mainland China (Mainlanders). Despite its literal meaning,the term is rarely used to describe newly arrived immigrants from regions other than Mainland China. Since the transfer of sovereignty over Hong Kong to The People's Republic of China,increasing numbers of migrants from mainland China have been coming to the territory.
Highly skilled applicants can apply for residency in Hong Kong. Tests that award points to skilled applicants and for economic contributions by investors were recently introduced by the Immigration Department of Hong Kong.
The visa policy of Hong Kong deals with the requirements in which a foreign national wishing to enter Hong Kong through one of the 15 immigration control points must meet to obtain an entry permit or Visa,which depending on the traveller's nationality,may be required to travel to,enter,and remain in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. Visitors from over 145 countries are permitted without Visa entry for periods ranging from 7 to 180 days,to the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region for tourism or certain business-related activities. All visitors must hold a passport valid for more than 1 month.
Hongkongers,Hong Kongers,Hongkongian,Hong Kongese,Hongkongese,Hong Kong citizens and Hong Kong people are demonyms that refer to the citizens and nationals of Hong Kong. The terms also typically refer to residents of the territory of Hong Kong,although they may also refer to others who were born and/or raised in the territory.
The Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups is a non-profit organization in Hong Kong,committed to develop youth services. Founded in 1960,the Federation has since been involved in providing activities and facilities for the physical,social,educational,cultural development of Hong Kong's youth.
Mainland Chinese or mainlanders are Chinese people who live in or have recently emigrated from mainland China,defined as the territory governed by the People's Republic of China (PRC) except for Hong Kong,Macau,and the partly-PRC-controlled South China Sea Islands,and also excluding certain territories that are claimed by the PRC but not controlled,namely Taiwan aka the "Republic of China" (ROC),which is a state with limited recognition,and other associated territories that are ruled by Taiwan. The term also refers to historical groups of people of Chinese origin who immigrated to Hong Kong,Macau and Taiwan during the 20th century,especially in the context of specific historical events.
In January 2012,Peking University professor Kong Qingdong made televised remarks suggesting that many Hong Kong people were disloyal to China and still harboured a colonial mentality. Kong Qingdong called Hong Kong people "dogs" in response to an online video posted about a mainland Chinese child eating on the subway,which is prohibited by MTR regulations. This prompted a series of campaigns against Kong Qingdong in Hong Kong. About 150 people gathered at the Central Government's Liaison Office on 22 January to protest Kong's remarks.
Hong Kong Autonomy Movement,sometimes Hong Kong City State Autonomous Movement,is a movement formed in Hong Kong amidst the raising awareness about Hong Kong's constitutional rights of high autonomy,free from interference of PRC government,as stipulated in Hong Kong Basic Law Article 2 and Article 22.
Hong Kong drifters are young,educated people who left mainland China to move to Hong Kong in search of a job and a place to live. They may experience difficulty assimilating into the culture of Hong Kong,which can vary from that of mainland China. The term Hong Kong drifter was first used in China by people in Internet chat rooms. The state may be a temporary one,depending upon a person's ability to adjust to the cultural and language differences.
HK First is a localist political party in Hong Kong. It had one representative in the Legislative Council of Hong Kong,Claudia Mo,a former pan-democratic Civic Party member. It was founded in 2013 by two pro-democracy legislators,Claudia Mo and Gary Fan,to "defend the city's culture from 'mainlandisation'".
The Boundaries of Hong Kong,officially the Boundary of the Administrative Division of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China,is a regulated administrative border with border control in force under the One country,two systems constitutional principle,which separates the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region from mainland China,by land border fence of 30 km (19 mi) and maritime boundary of 733 km (455 mi),enforcing a separate immigration and customs-controlled jurisdiction from mainland China.
Chow Man-kong is a Hong Kong economist and politician. He was elected as a member of Legislative Council in the Election Committee constituency representing the pro-Beijing labour union FLU.
