Gameplay

Format

Under the original format, the contestant can eliminate mystery singers after each round, and ended with the last remaining mystery singer depending on the outcome of a duet performance by guest artist(s). [2]

Rewards

The contestant must eliminate one mystery singer at the end of each round, receiving CA$3,000 if they eliminate a bad singer. At the end of the game, the contestant may either end the game and keep the money they had won in previous rounds, or risk it for a chance to win CA$25,000 by correctly guessing whether the last remaining mystery singer is good or bad. If the singer is bad, the contestant's winnings is given to the bad singer instead.

Rounds

Each episode presents the guest artist and contestant with six people whose identities and singing voices are kept concealed until they are eliminated to perform on the "stage of truth" or remain in the end to perform the final duet.

  1. Lip sync (French: Relecture)
Each mystery singer performs a lip sync to a song. Good singers mime to a recording of their own performance, while bad singers mime to a recording by someone else.
  2. Access code (French: Code d'accès)
The guest artist and contestant are presented with a video package in which one of the mystery singers discusses their life and musical qualifications.
  3. Secret studio (French: Studio secret)
The guest artist and contestant are presented with video from a recording session by one of the mystery singers, but pitch-shifted to obscure their actual vocals.
  4. Interrogation (French: Interrogatoire)
The guest artist and contestant may ask questions to the remaining mystery singers. Good singers are required to give truthful responses, while the bad singers must lie.
