Gameplay

Format

Presented with a group of nine "mystery singers", a guest artist and a group of two contestants must attempt to eliminate bad singers from the group without ever hearing them sing, assisted by clues and a celebrity panel over the course of several rounds. [a] At the end of a game, the last remaining mystery singer is revealed as either good or bad by means of a duet between them and one of the guest artists.

The contestants must eliminate one mystery singer at the end of each round, receiving a designated cash value based on the most bad singer eliminations. [a] At the end of a game, the contestants may either end the game and keep the money they had won in previous rounds, or risk it for a chance to win 20,000 by correctly guessing whether the last remaining mystery singer is good or bad.

Rounds

Visual round

  • First impression (French: Première impression)
s2: The guest artist and contestants are given some time to observe and examine each mystery singer based on their appearance.

Lip sync rounds

Each mystery singer performs a lip sync to a song; good singers mime to a recording of their own, while bad singers mime to a recording by someone else. At the conclusion of performances, the contestants eliminate one mystery singer from each group.

  • Playback (French: Relecture)
s1–2: Divided into multiple batches of mystery singers, [a] each of them have to perform a lip sync of their own.
  • Concealed vocals (French: Cachez la voix)
s1–2: The mystery singer lip syncs to the good singer's recording, then a bad singer's recording comes in the middle of the performance.

Evidence round

  • Exhibit (French: Pièce à conviction)
s1–2: The guest artist and contestants are presented with a video package containing possible clues by one of the mystery singers of their choice.

Talent round

  • Acting (French: La performance)
s1: The guest artist and contestants must describe one of the mystery singer's other talents, except "singing" itself. This may not be related to the "stage of truth", but depends on their identity.

Rehearsal round

  • Secret studio (French: Studio secret)
s2: The guest artist and contestants are presented with video from a recording session by one of the mystery singers, but pitch-shifted to obscure their actual vocals.

Interrogation round

  • Interview (French: L'interview)
s1–2: The guest artist and contestants may ask questions to the remaining mystery singers. Good singers are required to give truthful responses, while the bad singers must lie.

    • The number of rounds are set to five (for the 1st season) or six (for the 2nd season).
      • For the lip sync round, the number of mystery singer batches in the Playback segment are set to three groups of three (for the 1st season) or two groups of four (for the 2nd season).
    • For the 2nd season, a "safe haven" variant was conducted, in which contestants having the most bad singers eliminated receive a designated cash value, from a minimum of €1,000 to a maximum of €10,000 (if there are more than 6 bad singers).
  2. 1 2 3 For the show's overall reception:
    • In the 2nd episode (of a 2nd season) on 15 July 2024, average viewing population and (both overall and under-50  [ fr ]) shares were combined from two parts — with the 1st part garnering 0.941 million, 5.2% and 11.1%, and the 2nd have 0.963 million, 6.8% and 12.3%. [13] [14]
  3. The 2nd season was initially scheduled to air for 4 episodes. [4] [12] However, poor reception [b] forced the show to end the season immediately, with remaining 2 episodes (featuring guest artists Sheryfa Luna and Anne Sila) went unaired.
  4. 1 2 This refers to the guest artist(s) that have played in according only to their first game(s); returning guest artists (which also include foreigners or former good singers, with their names displaying in italics) did not count.
