Riverside is an unincorporated community in Eddy County, New Mexico, in the southwestern United States. [1] It is located on the left bank (east side) of the Pecos River about five miles east of Artesia, New Mexico on U.S. Route 82 (Lovington Highway). [2] Riverside is in the Loco Hills Division of Eddy County. [3]
Eddy County is a county located in the U.S. state of New Mexico. As of the 2010 census, the population was 53,829. Its county seat and largest city is Carlsbad. The county was created in 1891 and later organized in 1892. It is north of the Texas state line.

The Pecos River originates in north-central New Mexico and flows into Texas, emptying into the Rio Grande. Its headwaters are on the eastern slope of the Sangre de Cristo mountain range in Mora County north of Pecos, NM, at an elevation of over 12,000 feet (3,700 m) feet. The river flows for 926 miles (1,490 km) before reaching the Rio Grande near Del Rio. Its drainage basin encompasses about 44,300 square miles (115,000 km2).
The community of Riverside grew up in the 1970s as a place for oil workers' mobile homes and oil field support. [1] It was almost abandoned in the early 1980s, but came back in the 1990s as oil prices rose. Mack Energy Corporation has its corporate offices in Riverside. [4]

Artesia is a city in Eddy County, New Mexico, United States, centered at the intersection of U.S. Route 82 and U.S. Route 285; the two highways serve as the city's Main Street and First Street, respectively. As of the 2010 census, the city population was 17,801.
Carlsbad is a city in and the county seat of Eddy County, New Mexico, United States. As of the 2010 census, the city population was 26,138. Carlsbad is centered at the intersection of U.S. Routes 62/180 and 285, and is the principal city of the Carlsbad-Artesia Micropolitan Statistical Area, which has a total population of 55,435. Located in the southeastern part of New Mexico, Carlsbad straddles the Pecos River and sits at the eastern edge of the Guadalupe Mountains.
Farmington is a city in San Juan County in the U.S. state of New Mexico. As of the 2013 population estimate from the United States Census Bureau the city had a total population of 45,426 people. Farmington makes up one of the four Metropolitan Statistical Areas (MSA's) in New Mexico. The U.S. Census Bureau's population estimate in 2011 for Farmington was about 45,256.
State Route 91 (SR 91) is a major east–west state highway in the U.S. state of California that serves several regions of the Greater Los Angeles urban area. A freeway throughout its entire length, it officially runs from Vermont Avenue in Gardena, just west of the junction with the Harbor Freeway, east to Riverside at the junction with the Pomona and Moreno Valley freeways.
Embudo is an unincorporated community in Rio Arriba County, New Mexico, United States. It is on NM State Road 68. The Embudo Station is located 2.9 miles south of the intersection of NM State Road 75, near where the Embudo River flows into the Rio Grande.
Artesia High School (AHS) is the public senior high school of Artesia, New Mexico, United States. It is a part of the Artesia Public Schools. The colors of AHS are orange, black and white, and the school's mascot is a Bulldog. Enrollment currently stands at 751.

Queen is an unincorporated community in Eddy County in southeastern New Mexico, in the southwestern United States. Although it currently has a population of around 50, it was formerly considered a ghost town. Located in the foothills on the east side of the Guadalupe Mountains, in the southern Lincoln National Forest, it flourished in the early 20th century as a ranching center. Queen is located alongside NM Route 137, about 27 mi southwest of Carlsbad.

The 25-mile (40 km) road, located entirely within Lea County, begins at US 380 near Tatum and ends at the Texas state line where the road meets the numerically continuous Texas State Highway 125 southwest of Bledsoe, TX. State Road 357 (NM 357) is a state highway in the US state of New Mexico. Its total length is approximately 3.95 miles (6.36 km). NM 357's eastern terminus is in the city of Artesia at NM 229 (NM 229), and the western terminus is 26th street in Artesia.
State Road 478 (NM 478) is a 24.17-mile- (38.90 km) long state highway located entirely within Doña Ana County, New Mexico. Starting in Anthony and ending in Las Cruces, NM 478 was once a section of historic US 80, a major transcontinental highway between San Diego, California and Savannah, Georgia. In 1946, it also became part of U.S. Route 85, when the latter highway was extended south to the Mexican border in El Paso, Texas. US 80 and US 85 were rerouted onto a newer alignment to the east in the mid 1950s. This was also around the time the older highway was designated NM 478. For two years, the southern terminus of NM 478 also served as the national western terminus of US 80 until that highway was removed from New Mexico completely in 1991. Today, NM 478 remains on much the same route it has since it was first designated and serves several old US 80/US 85 communities long since bypassed by I-10
State Road 360 (NM 360) is a 25.098-mile-long (40.391 km) state highway in the US state of New Mexico. NM 360's southern terminus is at U.S. Route 62 (US 62) and US 180 northeast of Carlsbad, and the northern terminus is at US 82 east-southeast of Artesia.
