The Route nationale 11, or RN11, is a trunk road (nationale) [1] in Southwest France between Poitiers and La Rochelle. It is part of European route E611.
The road has been downgraded along part of its original route and re-numbered the RD611 between Poitiers and Niort.
The road begins on the RN10 south west of Poitiers branching west towards the coast. It passes the Abbey of Fontaine-le-Comte and then by-passes the village of Lusignan. The road enters the Foret de Soudan and a junction with the A10 autoroute, afterwards passing through the village of Soudan.
At Saint-Maucent-l'École the road crosses the river Sèvre Niortaise. South of La Crèche the road crosses the A83 autoroute becoming a dual-carriageway. The road enters the town of Niort.
The road passes Southwest now designated European Route E601. At Mauze-sur-le-Mignon the road turns north west through Foret de Benon and over the marshes including the Canal de Marane and then reaches the port of La Rochelle on the Atlantic coast.
The road here has a junction with the RN137 which runs along the coast connecting Nantes to Rochefort, designated the European Route E3. The RD11 becomes the Boulevard Andre Sautel as it heads towards the city centre. The RN735 connects the RN11 to the airport and the Pont-Viaduc , a bridge leading to the Île de Ré .
Deux-Sèvres is a French department. Deux-Sèvres literally means "two Sèvres": the Sèvre Nantaise and the Sèvre Niortaise are two rivers which have their sources in the department. It had a population of 374,878 in 2019.
Parthenay is an ancient fortified town and commune in the Deux-Sèvres department of the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region in western France. It is sited on a rocky spur that is surrounded on two sides by the River Thouet, and is the sub-prefecture of the Parthenay arrondissement.

The road forks at Col de Puymorens with one branch being the Route nationale 22 which leads to Andorra. In winter, avalanches sometimes close the road.
The A63 autoroute is a motorway in southwest France, connecting Bordeaux to the border with Spain and Basque Country via the Autopista AP-8. The motorway, rather than being a purpose-built route, is an upgrade of the former RN10, which became a full toll road and no longer exists south of Bordeaux. The motorway crosses Les Landes (moorland) as a dual-carriageway.
The A83 autoroute is a motorway in France. It is in the departments of Pays-de-la-Loire and Poitou-Charentes operated by ASF. It connects Nantes to Niort via Fontenay-le-Comte. The motorway has a junction with the A10 at Niort which gives access to the north and to Bordeaux connection. The A83 forms part of the Autoroute des Estuaires. The total length is 152.5 km. It is also part of the European route E3.
The Route nationale 24 is a highway in western France. It connects the city of Rennes with the Atlantic port of Lorient. The road is approximately 149 km long.
The Route nationale 26, or RN26, is a highway in France connecting Verneuil-sur-Avre with Argentan.
The Route nationale 28 is a trunk road in Normandy and Picardy in northwest France. It connects the city of Rouen to the port of Dunkerque. Most of the route has been superseded by the A28 autoroute.
