Rusty Rabbit is an upcoming metroidvania action platforming video game developed by Nitroplus and published by NetEase. It will release for PlayStation 5 and Windows in September 2024.

Plot

The game takes place in a post-apocalyptic world where humans have long abandoned Earth, leaving it to rabbits, who have developed an civilization where the books of Peter Rabbit are seen as holy. The game stars Stamp the rabbit (voiced by Takaya Kuroda) [2] as he pilots a mech through Mt. Chimney in search of his daughter.

Gameplay

Rusty Rabbit is a 2.5D Metroidvania. While Stamp's only weapon is a drill at first, he discovers new ones as the game progresses. His abilities can be upgraded by collecting junk and bringing it to his village. [3]

In addition to the story dungeons, the game also has optional procedurally generated dungeons. [4]

Development and release

The game was written by Gen Urobuchi. He was inspired by a picture on Twitter of a Sylvanian Families doll in a mecha. He had developed the game as a passion project during the COVID-19 lockdown and later fleshed it out as a full game. The game was developed by Nitroplus and uses the Unreal Engine. [5] A teaser trailer was shown in the 2023 Tokyo Game Show. The game was produced by creator Yuichiro Saito. [1]

<i>Zegapain</i> Japanese anime television series

Zegapain is a Japanese anime television series created by Sunrise staff and manga artist Takehiko Itō. Produced by Sunrise, TV Tokyo and Dentsu, it is directed by Masami Shimoda, with Mayori Sekijima handling series scripts, Takehiko Itō and Akihiko Yamashita designing the characters and Ayako Ōtsuka composing the music. The series premiered in Japan on April 6, 2006 on TV Tokyo and later BS Japan and AT-X. Puella Magi Madoka Magica, also known simply as Madoka Magica, is a Japanese anime television series created by Magica Quartet; and animated by Shaft. The story follows a group of middle school girls, led by protagonist Madoka Kaname, who make supernatural contracts to become magical girls. Gen Urobuchi is a Japanese novelist, visual novel writer and anime screenwriter. He currently works at Nitroplus and Nitro+chiral. Anime written by Urobuchi that have won the Newtype Anime Awards have been Puella Magi Madoka Magica in 2011, Fate/Zero in 2012 and Psycho-Pass: The Movie in 2015.

Psycho-Pass is a Japanese cyberpunk psychological thriller anime television series produced by Production I.G. The series aired on Fuji TV's Noitamina programming block between October 2012 and March 2013. Megaton Musashi is a Japanese multimedia franchise by Level-5. An action role-playing video game was released in Japan for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, in November 2021.
