SAG Team or Stop and Go Team is a motorcycle racing team from Spain, currently competing in the Moto2 World Championship.

Contents

History

The team debuted in the 2006 season. At that time competing in the 250cc class with their riders Jordi Carchano and Fabricio Perren. The principal of this team is Edu Perales, who is Spanish. [1]

SAG Team rider, Luis Salom died an fatal accident during FP2 for the 2016 Catalan motorcycle Grand Prix. [2]

On November 9, 2020 the team was launched in Jakarta and has teamed up with Indonesian racing team, Mandalika Racing Team to become one of the teams in the 2021. Pertamina is the main sponsor of the team along with several Indonesian State-Owned Enterprises. This season, SAG fielded both of their riders, Bo Bendsneyder and Thomas Luthi. [3]

Racing in the Moto2 class since 2014, he finished 41 races, with 3 podium appearances, including a second-place finish at the 2016 Qatar season opener. At the time of his death, Salom ranked 10th in the 2016 Moto2 Championship point standings. Previously he had competed in Moto3, accumulating nine race victories, finishing 2nd and 3rd in the 2012 and 2013 championships, respectively.
