The SBL Cup is the national professional league cup competition that is organised by the Swiss Basketball League (SBL), which is the top-tier level basketball division in Switzerland. The competition was introduced in 2004, and is the second cup competition that SBL teams play in, along with the Federation Swiss Cup. Formerly, the competition was known as the Swiss Basketball League Cup.

Format

Six teams from a given SBL regular season qualify, with the two highest seeds having a bye in the quarter-finals. [1] A final four tournament, at a host city, is played to determine the winner of the SBL Cup.

France competed at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from 5 to 21 August 2016. French athletes had appeared in every Summer Olympic Games of the modern era, alongside Australia, Great Britain, and Greece. The French Olympic Committee sent its largest ever delegation in Olympic history outside of when it was the host nation, with a total of 401 athletes, 232 men and 169 women, competing in all sports, except field hockey.

The Swiss Men's Basketball Cup, commonly known as simply the Swiss Cup or as the Patrick Baumann Swiss Cup, is the national cup competition of professional basketball in Switzerland. It is organised by Swiss Basketball, the national governing body of the sport. It is the national federation cup of Switzerland.

The 2017–18 SBL Cup was the 14th season of the SBL Cup, the league cup competition of the Swiss Basketball League (SBL). The competition was held from 13 December 2017 until 28 January 2018. Fribourg Olympic won its eighth league cup title.

The 2018–19 Swiss Basketball League (SBL) season is the 88th season of the top tier basketball league in Switzerland.

France competed at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. Originally scheduled to take place from 24 July to 9 August 2020, the Games were postponed to 23 July to 8 August 2021, because of the COVID-19 pandemic. French athletes have appeared in every Summer Olympic Games of the modern era, alongside Australia, Great Britain, Greece, and Switzerland. The 2019–20 Swiss Basketball League (SBL) season was the 89th season of the top tier basketball league in Switzerland. On 13 March 2020, the season was ended prematurely due to the COVID-19 pandemic and no champion was declared.

The Malagasy N1A is the top basketball league in Madagascar. Currently, twelve teams play in the competition to determine who is the national champion of Madagascar. The defending champion is GNBC.

The 2020–21 Swiss Basketball League (SBL) season was the 90th season of the top tier basketball league in Switzerland.
