The Slovenian Basketball Supercup is a men's professional basketball super cup competition in Slovenia, and it is played between the champion of the top-tier Slovenian First League and the winner of the Slovenian Basketball Cup.

Košarkarski klub Olimpija was a men's professional basketball club based in Ljubljana, Slovenia.
The Slovenia men's national basketball team represents Slovenia in international basketball competitions, and is managed by the Basketball Federation of Slovenia. Since the independence of Slovenia in 1991, the national team has competed at every EuroBasket, and reached the knockout stage at every championship since 2005. Their greatest achievement overall at the tournament came at EuroBasket 2017, where they won all nine games and became European champions.

Smodiš was also the team captain of the senior Slovenian national team. He is currently a sporting director of KK Žoltasti Troti.

Jurij "Jure" Zdovc is a Slovenian former professional basketball player and coach. He is the current head coach of Bursaspor of the Turkish Basketbol Süper Ligi (BSL). As a player, he was a 1.98 m (6'6") tall point guard, who began his professional playing career with the Yugoslav Second Division club Smelt Olimpija.
