SS Uriah M. Rose (MC contract 2729) was a Liberty ship built in the United States during World War II. She was named after Uriah M. Rose, an influential Arkansas lawyer.

The ship was laid down by Permanente Metals in their Richmond Yard #2 on December 19, 1943, then launched on January 10, 1944. Uriah M. Rose was operated by American President Lines under charter with the Maritime Commission and War Shipping Administration. American President Lines. In 1947 she was sold to French Gov't.(Cie.Generale Transatlantique) and renamed Aurray. In 1950 she was sold to Messageries Maritimes, Paris. In 1961 she was sold to Zim Israel Nav.Co, Haifa under an Israeli flag and renamed Pan. Zim Israel Nav.Co converted to motor ship, removing her steam engines. In 1964 she was sold to Pagan SS Corp, Nassau, a British flag and renamed Orchidea. In 1970 she was sold to Ardena Shipping Company, a Cyprus flag and renamed Ardena. In 1972 she was scrapped at Bilbao. [1] [2]

SS <i>Shalom</i> Ocean liner/cruise ship (1962–2001)

SS Shalom was a combined ocean liner/cruise ship built in 1964 by Chantiers de l'Atlantique, St Nazaire, France, for ZIM Lines, Israel, for transatlantic service from Haifa to New York. In 1967, SS Shalom was sold to the German Atlantic Line, becoming their second SS Hanseatic. Subsequently she served as SS Doric for Home Lines, SS Royal Odyssey for Royal Cruise Line and SS Regent Sun for Regency Cruises. The ship was laid up in 1995 following the bankruptcy of Regency Cruises. Numerous attempts were made to bring her back to service, but none were successful. The ship sank outside Cape St. Francis, South Africa, on 26 July 2001, while en route to India to be scrapped.

The Type C4-class ship were the largest cargo ships built by the United States Maritime Commission (MARCOM) during World War II. The design was originally developed for the American-Hawaiian Lines in 1941, but in late 1941 the plans were taken over by the MARCOM.

Andromachi was a 7,056 GRT cargo ship that was built as Empire Favour in 1945 by Caledon Shipbuilding & Engineering Co Ltd, Dundee for the Ministry of War Transport (MoWT). She was sold in 1947 and renamed Epsom. Sales in 1950 saw her renamed Tharros and Errington Court. In 1956, she was sold to Liberia and renamed Penelope. A further sale in 1961 saw her renamed Andromachi. She was set afire at Suez in June 1969 during the War of Attrition and was abandoned. The wreck was scrapped in 1976.

A. H. Bull Steamship Company was a shipping company and passenger liner service founded in New York City in 1902 by Archibald H. Bull (1848-1920).
