Sandra Vinces (born May 24, 1990) in Portoviejo, Ecuador. [1] She is 5'10 tall. She was Miss Ecuador 2009. She was elected from 21 contestants, representing the province of Manabi. [2] The pageant was held in Manta, Ecuador. Vinces has studied painting, singing, theater and professional modeling. She has stood out as a television presenter and singer. In 2008 she won the pageant CN Models Search, and obtained eighth place in the Top Model of the World competition which was held in China.

Portoviejo is a city in Ecuador, and the capital the Province of Manabí 30 kilometres from the Pacific coast.. Also known as the city of the "Royal Tamarind Trees" for the beautiful trees found in the area. Portoviejo is the main political and economical centre of the Portoviejo River valley, which also includes the cantons of Santa Ana and Rocafuerte, where about 110 square kilometres are cultivated every year. The valley is rich in the production of tomatoes, onions, peppers, bananas, mangoes and other tropical fruits. The city, which was affected by economic crisis in the eighties and nineties, is now recovering but severe budget limitations and a huge unemployment rate present difficulties for local authorities. Portoviejo is a large commercial center for the province, where there are two shopping malls, one with a large hypermarket, 8 movie theaters, food court, and other stores. The city is home of the cancer treatment hospital "Dr Julio Villacreses Colmont" serving the provinces of Manabí and Esmeraldas.

Miss Universe 2009

She was the representative from Ecuador to the Miss Universe 2009 competition which was held in the Bahamas in August 2009. Notable jury members were designer Carlos Molina from New York City, jewelry designer Magali Mateo, and former Miss Universe 2003 Amelia Vega. On August 16th, she became the second runner up with the "Best National Costume" tied with Miss Thailand Chutima Durongdejat the 2009 Miss Universe pageant. [3]

Miss Universe 2009, the 58th Miss Universe pageant, was held on 23 August at the Imperial Ballroom in Atlantis Paradise Island, Nassau, The Bahamas. It was the first back-to-back victories in Miss Universe history: Stefanía Fernández was crowned by Dayana Mendoza as her successor at the end of the event and Venezuela is the first and only country to defend Miss Universe title.

Amelia Vega Horford is a Dominican model, actress, writer, singer, and beauty pageant titleholder who was crowned Miss Universe 2003. After winning the Miss Universe title, she became the first ever Dominican entrant to become Miss Universe. At the age of 18, she was the youngest winner to be crowned Miss Universe since 1994; also, standing at 6 feet 2 inches (1.88 m), Vega is the tallest Miss Universe on record.

She was the representative from Ecuador to the Miss Continente Americano 2009 competition which was held in the Guayaquil, Ecuador in September, where she was second runner-up.

Thirty-three contestants competed for the national title, which was won by Karla Carrillo from Jalisco, who later competed in Miss Universe 2009 in The Bahamas. Carrillo was crowned by outgoing Nuestra Belleza México titleholder Elisa Nájera. She was the second Jalisciense to win this Title.

Miss Colombia 2013 beauty pageant edition

The National Beauty Contest in Colombia during its 79th edition, took place on November 11, 2013 in the city of Cartagena de Indias. In the evening of election and coronation, Carmen Lucia Aldana Roldán from Valle delivered the crown and the royal jewels to the winner Paulina Vega Dieppa from Atlántico. She represented Colombia at Miss Universe 2014 and ended up winning the title on January 25th, 2015 in Miami, USA.
