Sarah Juliette Saidi Fraincart (born 6 July 1999) [2] is a French-Moroccan rower and politician. In rowing, she came third in the 500 metres single sculls event at the 2019 African Games and competed in the single sculls event at the 2020 Summer Olympics. She was a candidate for France's National Assembly in the 2022 legislative elections, but was not elected.
Fraincart is a dual French-Moroccan citizen. [3] Fraincart was born in Troyes, France. Her mother is Moroccan and her father French. [2] [4] She studied when she was a teenager in collège Pithou, Troyes in a musical section Classe à horaires aménagés en musique, danse, théâtre ou arts plastiques .[ citation needed ]
Fraincart started rowing in Troyes, France, at the Société Nautique Troyenne. [5] In 2017, she chose to represent Morocco after her times were not good enough to qualify for the French team for the 2020 Summer Olympics. [3] In 2018, she started training in Toulouse, France. [3]
Fraincart competed in the single sculls event at the 2017 World Rowing Championships. [5] [1] In the same year, she came second in her event at the Arab Rowing Championship. [6] In 2019, she won an event at the Nouvelle-Aquitaine and Occitanie regional rowing championships. [7] At the 2019 African Games, Fraincart came third in the 500 metres single sculls event. [8] She also competed in the single sculls event at the 2019 World Rowing Championships. [1]
In May 2019, Fraincart was awarded an International Olympic Committee Olympic Solidarity scholarship to assist with her attempts to qualify for the 2020 Summer Olympics. [9] [10] In October 2019, Fraincart qualified for the single sculls event at the Games, [2] [4] after finishing fourth at the African qualification tournament. [4] [11] The qualification standard had been to finish in the top five out of the 15 competitors at the event. [12] At the Games, Fraincart finished last in her heat, [13] and repechage race. [14] She finished second in her E semi-final, [15] and fifth in her E final. [16] She was 29th overall, and the third best African finisher in the event, behind Maike Diekmann and Kathleen Noble. On 12 May 2022, the Nouvelle Union Populaire écologique et sociale invested Fraincart as its candidate in Aube's 2nd constituency for the 2022 legislative election. She is a member of the La France Insoumise party and a supporter of the left-wing political leader Jean-Luc Mélenchon. [18] Fraincart got 6,165 votes, the third most votes in the constituency, and was not elected. [19]

The men's coxed pair event was part of the rowing programme at the 1920 Summer Olympics. The competition was held on 28 and 29 August 1920. It was the second appearance of the event, which had previously been held only at the inaugural rowing competitions in 1900. Four boats, each from a different nation, competed. The event was won by the Italian boat in that nation's debut in the event, with Ercole Olgeni and Giovanni Scatturin the rowers and Guido De Felip the coxswain. France's crew took silver, the second consecutive silver for France. Switzerland earned bronze.

Stany Delayre is a French rower. At the 2012 Summer Olympics, he competed with Jérémie Azou in the men's lightweight double sculls, finishing in 4th place. On home water, he and Azou won the 2015 World Championship in that event. Their team also won the silver medal at the 2014 World Championships, and won the 2013, 2014 and 2015 European Championships. In 2009, Delayre was part of the French men's lightweight quadruple sculls time at the World Championships. He was also part of the French under-23s men's lightweight quadruple sculls at the 2006 and 2007 Junior World Rowing Championships.

Zeeman is a former world championships silver medallist in the women's quadruple sculls event. More recently she won gold in the women's single sculls at World Rowing Cup I regatta in Varese, Italy, and a silver at the 2017 World Rowing Cup 3 regatta in Lucerne Switzerland.

Dolores Robina Mary Young is a Canadian rower. She competed at the 1976 Summer Olympics and the 1984 Summer Olympics. In 1976, her team finished in 7th place in the Coxed Four women's event, and her team in 1984 finished 7th in the Coxed Quadruple Sculls women's event. Her competition in the 1976 games earned her a spot on the Canadian Rowing Hall of Fame in 2019.
