Peru, officially the Republic of Peru, is a country in western South America. It is bordered in the north by Ecuador and Colombia, in the east by Brazil, in the southeast by Bolivia, in the south by Chile, and in the west by the Pacific Ocean. The people in the district are mainly indigenous citizens of Quechua descent. Quechua is the language which the majority of the population (54.41%) learnt to speak in childhood, 44.56% of the residents started speaking using the Spanish language (2007 Peru Census). [2]

Coordinates: 15°19′09″S73°13′21″W / 15.3193°S 73.2225°W
A geographic coordinate system is a coordinate system that enables every location on Earth to be specified by a set of numbers, letters or symbols. The coordinates are often chosen such that one of the numbers represents a vertical position and two or three of the numbers represent a horizontal position; alternatively, a geographic position may be expressed in a combined three-dimensional Cartesian vector. A common choice of coordinates is latitude, longitude and elevation. To specify a location on a plane requires a map projection.
