The Screenwriters Association (formerly Film Writer's Association) is a labour union based in Mumbai, India. [1] Members are authors, novelists, playwrights, and journalists who work in films, TV, and digital media. Members of SWA can register their scripts, screenplays and lyrics with the organisation, and seek recourse in case of a dispute. SWA has a legal officer on board and the dispute settlement committee handles cases pertaining to writers' rights regarding credit and payments.

The Screenwriters Association is an autonomous body, for writers and run by writers of India. [2] On September 27, 2020 the Screenwriters Association held its first ever award ceremony. [3]

<i>Chauranga</i> 2014 Indian film

Chauranga is a 2016 Hindi film. It is the debut feature film of Indian writer-director Bikas Ranjan Mishra, produced by Onir and Sanjay Suri. The film was developed at the Screenwriters' Lab organized by National Film Development Corporation of India in collaboration with Locarno Film Festival and the ScriptStation of Berlinale Talent Campus, a part of Berlin International Film Festival. The Film won Golden Gateway of India Award for Best Film at the 16th Mumbai Film Festival.

Juhi Chaturvedi is an Indian screenwriter who works in Hindi films. An advertising professional based in Mumbai, Chaturvedi has written scripts for Bollywood films Vicky Donor (2012), Piku (2015), October (2018) and Gulabo Sitabo (2020).

Anjum Rajabali is a veteran Indian screenwriter and teacher. He has written films like Drohkaal (1994), Ghulam (1998), The Legend of Bhagat Singh (2002) and Raajneeti (2010). He is also known for his leadership and lobbying for the rights of Indian screenwriters, as a senior activist of the Screenwriters Association, India.

The 10th Mirchi Music Awards, presented by the Radio Mirchi, honoured the best music professionals of Hindi language Indian films of 2017. The ceremony was held on 28 January 2018 at the Dome @ National Sports Club of India, Mumbai and was hosted by Sonu Nigam. There were many performances, including those by Shreya Ghoshal, Ayushmann Khurrana, Javed Ali, Harshdeep Kaur and Neha Bhasin. A musical tribute was given to A. R. Rahman for completing his 25 years in the Indian cinema. Jab Harry Met Sejal won a leading five awards including Album of the Year and Song of the Year for "Hawayein". The show was broadcast on 18 March 2018 on Zee TV.

Rajdweep is an Indian screenwriter, playwright, lyricist and journalist hails from Dhing, Nagaon, Assam. He has been awarded by Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan for his script 'Ishqlogy' at Cinestaan India's Storyteller's Script Contest in 2018. He is the first lyricist from Assam who writes Assamese songs in Bollywood film. He wrote the songs 'Jiri Jiri' for the film A Death In The Gunj and the bihu song for the film Jagga Jasoos. Again, he becomes the first screenwriter from Assam who signed a Bollywood film. He signed the film on 21 October 2019.
