Server Sundaram is an unreleased Indian Tamil-language comedy drama film written and directed by Anand Balki, and produced by J. Selvakumar. The film stars Santhanam, Vaibhavi Shandilya and Snehan. It was filmed in 2016, but failed to have a theatrical release due to distribution issues.
In December 2015, debutant director Anand Balki announced that he would be making a film with Santhanam in the lead role and Santhosh Narayanan as music composer. [1] The film was later announced with the title Server Sundaram, with the team having attained permission from AVM Productions, who produced the 1964 film of the same name starring Nagesh. [2] Subsequently, the team also chose to cast Nagesh's grandson, Bijesh, in a supporting role of a catering college student. [3] [4] Major portions of the film were shot in and around SRM Institute of Science and Technology, [5] and Accord Metropolitan Hotel, Chennai. [2]
For his role of a caterer, Santhanam took training at a five-star restaurant and learnt skills from the restaurant's staff. [6] The first look poster of the film was released on 20 January 2016 coinciding with Santhanam's birthday, while the makers revealed that project would be shot in Chennai, Goa and Dubai. [7] In June 2016, the team shot a song with YouTube dancers Poonam and Priyanka Shah in Australia, alongside the lead actors. [8] Filming ended by late October 2016. [9]
The soundtrack was composed by Santhosh Narayanan. The first single "Hey Bro" was released on 18 February 2017. [10] The audio launch was held on 10 May the same year. [11]

Server Sundaram was originally scheduled for 7 September 2017, [12] before being rescheduled for 29 September. [13] After further delays, [14] it was scheduled for 6 July 2018, [15] before being delayed again to avoid competition with Mr. Chandramouli . [16] After being in deadlock for more than a year, it was scheduled for 31 January 2020, [17] only to be postponed to 14 February to avoid competition with Santhanam's other film, Dagaalty , [18] and then to 21 February. [19] After failing to release on the scheduled date, the film has no new release date, with the director blaming the distributors for ruining the film's release with their "amateur approach". Nagesh (born Cheyur Krishnarao Nageshwaran; was an Indian actor and comedian mostly remembered for his comic roles in Tamil films during the 1960s. Nagesh was born in Dharapuram. He acted in over 1,000 films from 1958 to 2008, performing in a variety of roles as comedian, lead roles, supporting actor and antagonist. He has also acted in Telugu, Malayalam, Hindi and Kannada films. Nagesh's style of comedy was largely inspired by Hollywood actor Jerry Lewis. Similarities between Nagesh and Lewis earned Nagesh the sobriquet the "Jerry Lewis of India". He was also nicknamed as the King of Comedy due to his impeccable comedy timing and body language. He featured regularly in the film projects of M. G. Ramachandran and Sivaji Ganesan even at a time when there was a massive rift between the two leading actors in Tamil cinema at that time.
Parattai Engira Azhagu Sundaram is a 2007 Indian Tamil-language crime action film directed by Suresh Krissna. The film stars Dhanush, Meera Jasmine and Archana. It is a remake of the 2005 Kannada film Jogi. It revolves around a woman who comes to the city from her village in search of her presumably lost son. The film was released on 27 April 2007 and unlike its original version was declared a box-office bomb.
Santhanam Neelamegam is an Indian actor and film producer who mainly works in Tamil cinema. Beginning his career as a comedian on television, he rose to fame through his performances in Star Vijay's Lollu Sabha enacting the lead role in spoofs of Tamil films. He was subsequently given a chance by actor Silambarasan to feature in a supporting role in Manmadhan (2004) and then was signed on to appear in a host of films, notably winning good reviews for his work in Sachien (2005) and Polladhavan (2007). He appeared in a one-off leading role in Shankar's production Arai En 305-il Kadavul (2008) and became a staple feature as a comedian with his brand of insult comedy becoming very successful during the period, with his market popularity helping stuck films find distributors.
Server Sundaram is a 1964 Indian Tamil-language comedy drama film directed by Krishnan–Panju and produced by A. V. Meiyappan. The film stars Nagesh as the title character. Muthuraman and K. R. Vijaya play the other lead roles while Major Sundarrajan, S. N. Lakshmi and Manorama play supporting roles. It focuses on a hotel waiter who strives to reach greater heights after he becomes an actor to attain the love of his restaurateur's daughter.

Kalakalappu (transl. Humour) is a 2012 Indian Tamil-language comedy film directed by Sundar C and produced by his wife Khushbu. The film stars Vimal, Shiva, Anjali, Oviya and Santhanam, with music composed by Vijay Ebenezer. It was originally titled Masala Cafe, but was later renamed to Kalakalappu. The film was released on 11 May 2012 and became a commercial success. The film was remade in Telugu as Jump Jilani. In 2018, the film had a spiritual successor Kalakalappu 2. The film is loosely based on the 2009 German film Soul Kitchen.
Settai (transl. Mischief) is a 2013 Indian Tamil-language black comedy film directed by R. Kannan. A remake of the 2011 Bollywood English-language film, Delhi Belly, it stars Arya, Santhanam, Premji, Hansika Motwani and Anjali. The film, which began filming in Chennai on 7 May 2012, released for April 2013. The audio was launched on 30 January. The film released on 5 April 2013.

Dagaalty (transl. Trickster) is a 2020 Indian Tamil-language action comedy film written and directed by Vijay Anand. The film stars Santhanam, Rittika Sen and Yogi Babu. It marks Santhanam and Yogi Babu’s second collaboration, after they previously appeared in an episode of Lollu Sabha. It revolves around a trickster who turns good, a girl sought by a Samrat and how other characters' plans for winning the prize money go away. The film was released on 31 January 2020. This film marks Rittika's acting debut in Tamil film industry.
