Shamaspur is a village of Jhelum District in the Punjab Province of Pakistan. It is part of Jhelum Tehsil. [1] and Union Council Chak Jamal.
It was founded by two infamous men who migrated there from Multan, whose graves are well known amongst the village members. The nearby territories at the time were inhabited by the: Brahman Rajputs, who were of the noble and rich landlord families; The syeds who descended from one of the seven generations of Syed Ali al-Harisi bin Mohammed al-Dibaj bin Ja'far al-Sadiq bin Hussein bin Ali ibn Abi Talib, this generation also fought alongside the well remarked Mahmud of Ghazni, leaving the six out of seven generations in Iran as another Shia Branch, This branch is sunni and spread out across northern Pakistan. And the Sheikhs who descended from a sahaba, whose descendants migrated from somewhere in Iraq (Most possibly Baghdad) to Multan, Punjab to escape from the cruel Umayyad and Abbasid Caliphs. The village (along with others of the Jhelum district) is known for taking pride in sending their family members into the Pak army.

The chief center of the salt trade is Pind Dadan Khan. The district is crossed by the main line of the North-Western railway and also traversed along the south by a branch line. It is located in the north of the Punjab province, Jhelum district is bordered by Sargodha and Mandi Bahauddin to its south, Khushab to its southwest, Jhelum River to its south and east, Gujrat to its east, Chakwal to its west, Mirpur to its northeast, and Rawalpindi to its north.

Sadat e-Bara sometimes pronounced Sadaat-e-Bahara, are a community of Sayyids, originally Elite or Noble Sayyid families situated in the Muzaffarnagar district of Uttar Pradesh in India. This community had considerable influence during the reign of the Mughal Empire. Its members were also found in Karnal District and Haryana, Gujarat & Karnataka, Maharashtra state in India.Some of the members of this community have migrated to Pakistan after independence and have settled in Karachi, Khairpur State in Sind and Lahore. When the All-India Muslim League was founded at Dacca, on 30 December 1906 at the occasion of the annual All India Muhammadan Educational Conference, It was participated by the Muslim leaders from Punjab, i.e., Sir Mian Muhammad Shafi, Mian Fazl-i-Hussain, Abdul Aziz, Khawaja Yusuf Shah and Sh. Ghulam Sadiq. Earlier Mian Muhammad Shafi organised a Muslim Association in early 1906, but when the All-India Muslim League was formed, he established its powerful branch in the Punjab of which he became the general secretary. Shah Din was elected as its first president. This branch, organised in November 1907, was known as the Punjab Provincial Muslim League.

He was a well known scholar of hadith of his time. He is also known as Muhaddith Punjab or Ustad-e-Punjab. He was one of the notable leaders of Ahl-i Hadees movement.
