Academics

As of 2010, Sickles High School was meeting the Adequate Yearly Progress mandated under the federal No Child Left Behind Act. [8] According to the Florida Department of Education's 2012-13 School Accountability report, Sickles was graded as an "A" school. [9] In 2023, Sickles students were distressed by the “Don’t Say Gay” statute, which banned the AP psychology course causing students to change their class selection. An alternative was later reached which worked around the ban.
