Sphaeriestes is a genus of narrow-waisted bark beetles in the family Salpingidae. There are about 13 described species in Sphaeriestes. [1] [2] [3]
These 13 species belong to the genus Sphaeriestes:
Buprestis is a genus of beetles in the tribe Buprestini, the jewel beetles. As of 2011 there were 78 described species distributed across most of the world's biogeographic realms except parts of Africa and Antarctica.
Dryophilus is a genus of beetles in the family Ptinidae. There are about eight described species in Dryophilus.
Cylindromorphus is a genus of beetles in the family Buprestidae, containing the following species:
Phaenops is a genus of metallic wood-boring beetles, or jewel beetles, in the family Buprestidae. There are more than 20 described species in Phaenops, found in North America and the Palearctic.
Chalcophora is a genus of beetles in the family Buprestidae, containing the following living species:
Acmaeodera is a genus of beetles in the family Buprestidae, a group of metallic wood-boring beetles favored by insect collectors. Whereas most beetles including most buprestids fly with their elytra held out and vibrating their hindwings to give lift and thrust, Acmaedodera, however, fly with their hind wings only — the elytra are fused down the center and form a shield over the insect's abdomen, even during flight. This fact, combined with the banding across the abdomen which is common in this family, gives many of them a distinct wasp-like appearance when in flight. Several are therefore considered hymenopteran mimics.
Geotrechus is a genus in the beetle family Carabidae. There are more than 20 described species in Geotrechus, found in Europe.
Malachius is a genus of soft-winged flower beetles belonging to the family Melyridae subfamily Malachiinae. Malachius species have been reported from Albania, Belgium, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Poland, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and in former Yugoslavia.
Ceruchus is a genus of stag beetles in the family Lucanidae. There are about 19 described species in Ceruchus.
Xanthochroina is a genus of false blister beetles in the family Oedemeridae. There are at least three described species in Xanthochroina.
Macrosiagon is a genus of wedge-shaped beetles in the family Ripiphoridae. There are more than 20 described species in Macrosiagon. Under the rules of the ICZN, the nomenclatural gender of the genus name is feminine, as it is based on the Greek word "siagon" (σῐᾱγών), for "jaw", which is feminine in gender, despite recent publications erroneously treating the gender as neuter
Pityophagus is a genus of sap-feeding beetles in the family Nitidulidae. There are about six described species in Pityophagus.
Prionocyphon is a genus of marsh beetles in the family Scirtidae. There are at least 20 described species in Prionocyphon.
Elodes is a genus of marsh beetles in the family Scirtidae. There are more than 60 described species in Elodes.
Dascillus is a genus of soft-bodied plant beetles in the family Dascillidae. There are more than 20 described species in Dascillus.
Salpinginae is a subfamily of narrow-waisted bark beetles in the family Salpingidae.
Elacatis is a genus of false tiger beetles in the family Salpingidae. There are about 13 described species in Elacatis.
Dacoderinae is a subfamily of narrow-waisted bark beetles in the family Salpingidae. There are at least 3 genera and about 11 described species in Dacoderinae.
Dacoderus is a genus of narrow-waisted bark beetles in the family Salpingidae. There are about seven described species in Dacoderus.
Salpingus is a genus of beetles belonging to the family Salpingidae.
