Stacy Fielding Brenner is an American Democratic politician,registered nurse,small business owner and organic farmer. She currently represents Maine State Senate District 30,consisting of the towns of Bar Mills,Gorham,Scarborough,and part of Buxton,and co-owns and operates Broadturn Farm in Scarborough.
Brenner grew up in New Jersey [1] and attended the University of Arizona where she earned a bachelor's degree in agriculture. [2] She also holds a BSN and MSN from the University of Pennsylvania. Brenner worked as a nurse-midwife at the Mercy Hospital of Portland as a new nurse and currently works per-diem there. [1] [3]
Brenner and her husband John Bliss moved to Maine in 2002 to establish a family farm. They founded and currently maintain Broadturn Farm, [2] [4] [1] located on a 434-acre preserve in Scarborough,Maine on Abenaki tribal homeland. The land is now owned by the Scarborough Land Trust (SLT) and protected by a conservation easement. On July 1,2020,Broadturn Farm began a 99-year lease of the land from SLT. [5]
Broadturn produces wholesale flowers,event arrangements and a flower CSA,hosts weddings,and ran a summer youth program until 2021. [4]
Brenner has been a member of the Maine Farmland Trust since 2008. [6] and is the vice-president of the Board of Directors for the Maine Organic Farmers and Gardeners Association (MOFGA). [7] In September 2020,she joined 135 Maine farmers and 2,100 farmers and ranchers nationwide signing a letter to the U.S. House Select Committee urging action on climate change. [8]
In 2020,Brenner ran for the Maine State Senate District 30 seat vacated by retiring Democratic senator Linda Sanborn. [2] On November 3,Brenner defeated Republican Sara Rivard 54%-46%. [9]
Brenner and her husband,John Bliss,have two daughters:Emma,a nurse;and Flora,a high school student. [7]

Known for its working waterfront,South Portland is situated on Portland Harbor and overlooks the skyline of Portland and the islands of Casco Bay. Due to South Portland's close proximity to air,marine,rail,and highway transportation options,the city has become a center for retail and industry in the region. The Maine Mall,the largest shopping mall in the state,is located in South Portland.
American Farmland Trust (AFT) is a non-profit organization in the United States with a mission to protect farmland,promote environmentally sound farming practices,and keep farmers on the land. AFT is staffed by farmers,policy experts,researchers,and scientists,and governed by a board of directors. Its headquarters are in Washington,D.C.,and it has regional offices throughout the country. AFT also runs the Farmland Information Center,an online collection of information on farmland and ranchland protection and stewardship established as a public-private partnership with the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service.
Lawrence Steven Bliss is an American educator and former politician from the state of Maine. A Democrat,he served in the Maine House of Representatives (2000–2008) and the Maine Senate (2008–2011). He resigned as a senator on April 15,2011 after accepting a position as an administrator at California State University,East Bay,and leaving the state of Maine.

Eloise A. Vitelli is the majority leader of the Maine Senate. She is a Democrat representing Senate District 24,which serves all of Sagadahoc County and the adjacent town of Dresden,Maine in Lincoln County. Vitelli was first elected to the Maine Senate in a 2013 special election,but lost her re-election bid in 2014. She was re-elected in 2016,2018,2020,and 2022. Vitelli began working as an entrepreneurship trainer in the early 1980s and was the director of program and policy for New Ventures Maine for 38 years. She became the Assistant Senate Majority Leader in December 2020,and Majority Leader in February 2021.
Nathan Libby is an American Democratic former politician from Maine. He represented Senate District 21,which serves Lewiston,Maine's second-largest city. She completed a Master of Theological Studies (M.T.S) from Harvard University in 1987 and moved to Maine in 1988. Carney completed a Juris Doctor at the University of Maine School of Law in 1990 and practiced employment,civil rights and municipal law for 16 years. She was a pro bono In-House Volunteer Attorney at Pine Tree Legal Assistance for eight years before running for Maine House of Representatives District 30 in 2018. In 2020,Carney was elected to her first term in the Maine Senate.
Donna Bailey is an American politician and attorney from Maine. Long Creek is a freshwater stream in southern Maine,United States. It is a tributary of the Fore River,into which it flows at South Portland,at the eastern edge of Portland International Jetport,via Clark Pond,directly south of Thompson's Point on the Portland side of the river. Its main branch is around 3.8 miles (6.1 km) long.
