Stanley Jackson (born March 24, 1975) is a former American football quarterback who played in the Canadian Football League (CFL) and Continental Indoor Football League (CIFL). He was also the co-owner of the CIFL's Marion Mayhem.

College career

Jackson played college football for the Ohio State Buckeyes, where he alternated with Joe Germaine at the quarterback position. He was part of the 1996 team that won the 1997 Rose Bowl. [1] [2] [3]

Professional career

Montreal Alouettes

In 1999 and 2000, Jackson played quarterback for the Montreal Alouettes in the CFL. In two seasons, Jackson completed 50 of 90 passes for 679 yards with one touchdown and three interceptions.

During his time as a football player, Stanley Jackson would periodically work as a staff member at The Lords Ranch in Warm Springs, Arkansas. [4]

Toronto Argonauts

In 2001 and 2002, Jackson had moved on to the Toronto Argonauts. He saw significantly less playing time, completing 14 of only 22 attempts for 2 touchdowns and 3 interceptions.

Winnipeg Blue Bombers

After sitting out all of 2003 with a knee injury, Winnipeg Blue Bombers gave Jackson a chance to play quarterback again in 2004. He completed only 4 passes on 12 attempts for 67 yards. [5]

Marion Mayhem

After retiring for two years, Jackson played for the Marion Mayhem of the newly formed, Continental Indoor Football League. Citing that he missed the game after sitting out, Jackson tried out and made the Mayhem squad. He was also part owner in the low budget league. He went on to have 3 successful seasons with the Mayhem, guiding them to 6-6, 7-5, and 9-3 records. [6] He owns two CIFL records, passing completions in a season (177) and passing attempts in a season (348). [7]

Post retirement

Jackson is currently a color analyst for college football games on the Big Ten Network. He has also served as an analyst for the Ohio State Buckeyes' pre-game and post-game show on WTVN radio in Columbus, Ohio. He is married to Ronita "Myricks" Jackson, has 4 children and currently lives in Westerville, Ohio. [1] Jackson has also been appointed by Ohio Governor John Kasich to the Ohio State Board of Education, an action which has created some controversy in Ohio among some educators who have voiced doubt that Jackson has the appropriate credentials for the position. [8] In February 2023 Jackson was named as the head football coach at Westerville North High School.

The Mayhem were the first professional indoor football team to be based in Marion, but were the second pro football team to be based in the area since the NFL's Oorang Indians. Tyler Allen Sheehan is a former American football quarterback. Sheehan played collegiately at Bowling Green State University after a standout career at La Salle High School in Cincinnati, Ohio. In 2011, he signed with the Cincinnati Commandos of the Continental Indoor Football League. Sheehan led the Commandos to a perfect 10–0 regular season, winning the league's MVP award. In the playoffs, Sheehan led the Commandos to the 2011 CIFL Championship Game, where they defeated the Marion Blue Racers 44–29. After the Commandos season ended, Sheehan signed with the Arizona Rattlers of the Arena Football League, but never appeared in a game. In 2012, Sheehan returned to the Commandos and led them to a 7–2 record, this time in the United Indoor Football League. The Commandos took the first place seed into the playoffs, and won Ultimate Bowl II 62–44 over the Florida Tarpons.

The Marion Blue Racers were a professional indoor football team based in Marion, Ohio. The Blue Racers began play as an expansion team in the Continental Indoor Football League (CIFL) in 2011, before moving to the United Indoor Football League (UIFL) for the 2012 season. The Blue Racers returned to the CIFL in 2013. The team had announced that it would be joining the Xtreme Indoor Football League (XIFL) for the 2014, but later re-signed with the CIFL. During the 2015 season, the Blue Racers played as members of X-League Indoor Football.

The 2011 Marion Blue Racers season was the first season for the Continental Indoor Football League (CIFL) franchise. They took over to fill the void in Marion, Ohio, after the Marion Mayhem folded the year before. The franchise couldn't have asked for a more exciting start than their first game on March 5, 2011. Marion entered the 4th quarter trailing 37–23 to the Port Huron Predators. They started their comeback by scoring a touchdown with 10:31 left in the game. Mike Tatum caught a nine-yard touchdown pass from Josh Harris and Tyler Lorenz added the extra point, cutting Port Huron's lead was cut to 37–30. With 3:27 left in the game, Harris ran in from three yards out to tie the game. The game-winning score came on an eight-yard run by Harris with 27 seconds to play. Port Huron quarterback Jim Roth was intercepted by Bryan Williams as time expired to secure the victory. On April 2, 2011, the Blue Racers set a CIFL record with 8 rushing touchdowns in a single game, against the Indianapolis Enforcers. After the Blue Racers got off to a 3–1 start, Demetrius Ross stepped down from his head coaching position, citing personal reasons. His defensive coordinator, Ryan Terry, took over as head coach, just 2 days before the Blue Racers played their first road game at the Dayton Silverbacks. The Blue Racers went on to an 8–2 regular season record, losing twice to the Cincinnati Commandos. The team defeated the Dayton Silverbacks 53–18 in the league semi-finals, before being defeated by the Commandos again in the 2011 CIFL Championship Game 44–29.

Mike Anthony Tatum is an American football coach who is the head coach and offensive coordinator for the Omaha Beef of the National Arena League (NAL). He is former indoor American football wide receiver for the Nebraska Danger, Bismarck Bucks and the Sioux Falls Storm of the Indoor Football League (IFL). He played college football at Oxnard College. He signed as an undrafted free agent with the Marion Mayhem in 2009. He played with the Mayhem until their disbanding during the 2010 season. Tatum then finished the 2010 season with the Fort Wayne FireHawks. Tatum then returned to Marion in 2011, when a new franchise called the Marion Blue Racers expanded into the CIFL. Tatum has also played for the Everett Raptors of the IFL.

Bryan Williams is a former American football defensive back. He played college football at the University of Akron.

Dominick Wendell Goodman is an American football wide receiver who is currently a free agent. He played in the German Football League and Arena Football League.

The 2007 Marion Mayhem season was the second season for the Continental Indoor Football League (CIFL) franchise. Before the season began, 4th Down and Long LLC sold the team to Michael Burtch. Joining the team would be former Ohio State University quarterback, Stanley Jackson. Jackson would later become a part owner of the franchise due to their small budget operation. Jackson went on to set league records for pass completions (177), pass attempts (348) and interceptions thrown (16). Marion finished 6-6 in 2007, good enough to make the CIFL playoffs. After eliminating the Muskegon Thunder in the first round of the CIFL playoffs, the Mayhem's season was ended by a loss to the Michigan Pirates.

Tyler Tettleton is an American football coach and former quarterback who is currently the assistant running backs coach for the Jacksonville Jaguars of the National Football League (NFL). He previously served as an offensive quality control coach for the Cleveland Browns. He also coached college football as an offensive analyst at LSU and running backs coach at Ohio. Tettleton played college football at Ohio.

Cardale Jones is an American football quarterback who is a free agent. He played college football at Ohio State. He started for the Buckeyes during the inaugural College Football Playoff National Championship, leading Ohio State to the title. Jones went on to be the starter for the Buckeyes for the first 7 games of the 2015 season. Jones was selected by the Buffalo Bills in the fourth round of the 2016 NFL Draft. He was also a member of the Los Angeles Chargers and Seattle Seahawks of the NFL, the DC Defenders of the XFL, the Edmonton Elks of the Canadian Football League, and the Massachusetts Pirates of the Indoor Football League.
