Students are admitted into polytechnic, diploma, ITI training and craftsman training through web portal of Student Academic Management System SAMS (e-Admission process) which is maintained by Department of skill development and technical education under Department of Higher Education, Odisha government of Odisha state for ITI [3] and Diploma [4] engineering and non engineering admission.

The Government Polytechnic, Balasore is a State Government run diploma engineering school. It is established in 2013 by the Directorate of Technical Education & Vocational Training(DTET), Orissa. It started with all the new Government Polytechnics in Orissa at a time.

The Jharsuguda Engineering School(JES), Jharsuguda is a state government run diploma engineering school established in 1955 by Government of Odisha. Currently the institution is affiliated to SCTE & VT & DTET of Orissa. It gives three year diploma courses in variety of branches of engineering. It also obeys the norms of AICTE.

The Barrister Ranjit Mohanty Group of Institution (BRM) was established in 2000 as BRM trust for providing education in computer science for school students for Government of Odisha. Subsequently, it diversified by adding engineering, management and vocational courses to its curriculum. All the courses except diploma engineering courses are affiliated with Biju Patnaik University of Technology. The diploma engineering courses are affiliated to SCTE & VT of Odisha.

The Jhadeswar Institute of Engineering & Technology(JIET), Balasore is a private run diploma engineering school established in 2009 by Jhadeswar Educational Trust. Jhadeswar Educational Trust has also have established an ITC in 2007. It is now affiliated to SCTE & VT, Odisha and also approved by AICTE.

The Institute of Textile Technology, Choudwar, Cuttack is the only institute in Orissa offering engineering course in Textile Technology. It is a Government run diploma engineering or polytechnic established in 1983 for developing the textile manpower of Orissa for the satisfying the huge demand of manpower in textile industries and for increasing textile technical knowledge of new youth for those growing industries.

Uma Charan Pattnaik Engineering School (UCPES) previously known as Berhampur Engineering School, named after the great freedom fighter and eminent parliamentarian Late Uma Charan Patnaik, was established in the year 1956. It is located in the Silk-city, at a distance of five km from the Railway Station and three km from the Bus-stand. The Industries Department, Government of Orissa, took over this institution for better management from private committee on 12 November 1958. This institution is affiliated to the State Council for Technical Education and Vocation Training (SCTE&VT) Orissa, Bhubaneswar and is under the administrative control of Director of Technical Education and training Orissa, Cuttack which comes under the Industries Department, Government of Orissa. Statue of LateUma Charan Patnaik (19.10.1902- 14.02.1961) The institution has a sprawling 49.785 acres area in Kalapuri Mouza in Khata No.16 & 27 in the name of Industries Department.

The Government Polytechnic, Bhadrak is a State Government run diploma engineering school. It is established in 2017 by the Directorate of Technical Education & Training, Odisha (DTET).
