Strong Style Evolved UK was a two-day professional wrestling event promoted by New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW), in partnership with Revolution Pro Wrestling (RPW). It took place on June 30 and July 1, 2018 at Planet Ice Milton Keynes in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, England [3] and Planet Ice Altrincham in Altrincham, Greater Manchester, England. [4] The event was streamed on demand on RPW on Demand and NJPW World.
The event was themed around Chaos versus Suzuki-gun matches and featured participation of wrestlers from both NJPW and RPW. Three RPW championships were defended, including the British Heavyweight Championship.

On March 25, 2018, NJPW held Strong Style Evolved at the Walter Pyramid in Long Beach, California, U.S. [5] The following day on March 26, NJPW announced the follow-up to Strong Style Evolved, Strong Style Evolved UK, occurring on June 30 and July 1. [6] [7] The event will be held in conjunction with NJPW's British partner RPW; the two promotions had established a working relationships in 2015 as a part of NJPW's "New IWGP Conception." [8] [9] [10]
Tickets for the event were put on pre-sale on March 27 and 29. [11] Tickets for meet-and-greets were also later put on sale. [12] [13]
On May 3, it was announced that Kazuchika Okada would take part in the event. [11] Later in May and June, it was announced that Tomohiro Ishii, [14] Taiji Ishimori, [15] Minoru Suzuki, [16] Toru Yano, [17] Yuji Nagata, [18] Will Ospreay, [19] Taichi, [20] Jay White, [21] Shota Umino, [22] Zack Sabre Jr., [23] Takashi Iizuka, [24] and NJPW LA Dojo graduate Dan Duggan would be participating at the event.
The event will air on the NJPW World and RPW On Demand streaming services, and will feature English commentary from Kevin Kelly. [25]
On June 11, NJPW and RPW began revealing matches for the event. [26] [27] [28]
At Dominion 6.9 in Osaka-jo Hall, the Suzuki-gun team of Minoru Suzuki and Zack Sabre Jr. defeated the Chaos team of Tomohiro Ishii and Toru Yano. After the match Suzuki and Ishii had a confrontation, which set up a British Heavyweight Championship match for this event.
At Sakura Genesis, Kazuchika Okada successfully defended the IWGP Heavyweight Championship in the main event against Zack Sabre Jr. A rematch was then scheduled for this event.
As a preview for both these matches, the first night featured a tag team match for the Undisputed British Tag Team Championship between the teams of Suzuki/Sabre Jr. and Okada/Ishii.
Jay White's opponent in his night 2 match was scheduled to be Chris Brookes. However, Brookes fell ill and had to be replaced by Kyle Fletcher.

Hiroshi Tanahashi is a Japanese professional wrestler, sports executive and podcaster. He is signed to New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW), where he serves as the president and representative director of the promotion, and is also an active wrestler, being one third of the NEVER Openweight 6-Man Tag Team Champions alongside Toru Yano and Oleg Boltin.
Luke James Uggles Eatwell, known by his ring name Zack Sabre Jr. and its abbreviated form ZSJ, is an English-born professional wrestler currently signed to New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW). In NJPW, he is the leader of the group The Mighty Don't Kneel (TMDK) and is a former two-time and inaugural NJPW World Television Champion. He also makes sporadic appearances for All Elite Wrestling (AEW) and its sister promotion Ring of Honor (ROH).
Taichiro Maki is a Japanese professional wrestler, better known by his ring name Taichi, shortened from his previous ring name Taichi Ishikari. He is currently working for New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW), where he is a member of the Just 5 Guys stable.
Katsuyori Shibata is a Japanese professional wrestler, mixed martial artist and professional wrestling trainer currently signed to New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW) and All Elite Wrestling (AEW). He also makes appearances for AEW's sister promotion Ring of Honor (ROH), where he is a former ROH Pure Champion. In professional wrestling, he is known for his hard hitting offense. He spent most of his career with NJPW as both a wrestler and trainer. In NJPW, he is a former three-time NEVER Openweight Champion, a one-time IWGP Tag Team Champion, and the winner of the 2017 New Japan Cup. He is also a former holder of Revolution Pro Wrestling's RPW British Heavyweight Championship. From March 2018 to July 2023, Shibata served as the head coach of NJPW's dojo in Los Angeles.
Chaos is a professional wrestling stable, primarily performing in the New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW) promotion and All Elite Wrestling (AEW). The group was formed in 2009, when nearly all the members of the Great Bash Heel (G.B.H) stable turned on leader Togi Makabe and reformed under new leader Shinsuke Nakamura. Soon after, the new group was named Chaos, with Nakamura as the leader. As the leader of Chaos, Nakamura was one of NJPW's top wrestlers, winning the IWGP Heavyweight Championship and the IWGP Intercontinental Championship as well as the 2011 G1 Climax and the 2014 New Japan Cup.
Suzuki-gun was a villainous professional wrestling stable primarily appearing in the New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW) promotion, and making occasional appearances in All Elite Wrestling (AEW). The group was founded in December 2010 by IWGP Heavyweight Champion Satoshi Kojima as Kojima-gun, but the members of the stable turned on Kojima and appointed Minoru Suzuki as their new leader in May 2011. Suzuki-gun added several new members, such as Davey Boy Smith Jr. and Lance Archer, known collectively as the Killer Elite Squad (K.E.S.), who are three-time IWGP Tag Team Champions and two-time NWA World Tag Team Champions as part of the stable. Other accomplishments attained by the stable include Suzuki and Archer winning the 2011 G1 Tag League and founding members Taichi and Taka Michinoku becoming one-time IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champions. As the leader of Suzuki-gun, Suzuki became one of NJPW's top wrestlers and has challenged for the IWGP Heavyweight Championship on multiple occasions.
Tomohiro Ishii is a Japanese professional wrestler currently signed to New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW). He also makes additional appearances for All Elite Wrestling (AEW). He is also known for his work with the independent Fighting World of Japan Pro Wrestling promotion, where he worked backstage as the chairman.
Revolution Pro Wrestling (RevPro/RPW) is a British professional wrestling promotion founded on 26 August 2012 by Andy Quildan after separating from International Pro Wrestling: United Kingdom.
William Peter Charles Ospreay is an English professional wrestler who is currently signed to All Elite Wrestling (AEW). He is also known for his eight year tenure with New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW), where he held various championships, including the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship. He is the leader of the United Empire and a member of the Don Callis Family stable. Ospreay is regarded by fans, peers, and industry journalists as one of the best in-ring performers of all-time.
The Undisputed British Heavyweight Championship is a professional wrestling championship owned by the Revolution Pro Wrestling (RevPro/RPW) promotion. The title was created and debuted on 16 July 2005 and is the promotion's principal championship. The current champion is Michael Oku, who is in his first reign.
Jamie White, better known by the ring name Jay White, is a New Zealand-Dutch professional wrestler currently signed to All Elite Wrestling (AEW), where he is the leader of Bullet Club Gold with stablemates The Gunns and Juice Robinson. With the Gunns, White is currently one-third of the Unified World Trios Champions in their first reign. Prior to signing with AEW, White had a decorated career in New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW) as the first ever NJPW Grand Slam Champion.
G1 Special in USA was a two-day professional wrestling event promoted by New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW). The two shows took place on July 1 and 2, 2017, in Long Beach, California, United States at the Long Beach Convention and Entertainment Center.
