Sun Plaza is a entertainment shopping mall located in Medan Polonia, Medan. This shopping center building has 6 floors (including the Lower Ground and Ground Floor) designed with the concept of Family Mall.^[1] Located around strategic place as nearby from the city center, the mall has several high-end fashion brands including cinemas and restaurants. The mall opened on 1 July 2014 along with Centre Point (Medan) replace Medan Mall after 9-years.

Medan Polonia is one of 21 districts in the city of Medan, North Sumatra, Indonesia. The old Polonia Airport located in this district. This area consist of luxury housing and restaurants near the airport and shop houses on the north side.

Centre Point Medan, is a superblock and a entertainment shopping mall located along Jalan Jawa, in Medan, North Sumatra, Indonesia, near to Medan Station and Merdeka Walk. The mall is named Centre Point due its location as the City centre of Medan. The mall opened on 18 July 2013 along with Sun Plaza (Medan).

Sun Plaza opened on 1 July 2004 along with Centre Point (Medan) replace Medan Mall after 9-years and has been attracting visitors even before the mall was officially opened. The mall was built not far from various public facilities, ranging from government agencies (Office of the Governor of North Sumatra), school (SMA Negeri 1 Medan), houses of worship (Medan Great Mosque, Sri Mariamman Temple, Gunung Timur Temple), and residences (Cambridge Apartement, Travellers Suites, Royal Suite Condotel). The strategic location makes it easily accessible mall and visited various circles. The main tenant is the Sogo Department Store, Hypermart, Ace Hardware, H&M and other tenants consist of a variety of local and international brand among Gramedia, Disc Tarra, Starbucks, J.CO Donuts and others.

Great Mosque of Medan or Masjid Raya Al Mashun is a mosque located in Medan, Indonesia. The mosque was built in the year 1906 and completed in 1909. In beginning of its establishment, the mosque was a part of the Maimun palace complex. Its architectural style combines Middle Eastern, Indian and Spanish elements. The mosque has an octagonal shape and has wings to the south, east, north and west.

Sri Mariamman Temple is Medan's oldest Hindu Temple. This temple was built in 1884 for the worship of Goddess Mariamman.
