The ATP Masters 1000 tournaments is an annual series of nine tennis tournaments featuring the top-ranked players on the ATP Tour. The series' events have been held in Europe and North America since the debut of ATP Tour in 1990, and also in Asia since 2009. The ATP Masters, along with the ATP Finals, constitute the most coveted trophies in men's tennis after the four majors, hence the tournaments are collectively known as the "Big Titles".

The 2019 ATP Tour calendar comprised the Grand Slam tournaments, the ATP Tour Masters 1000, the ATP Finals, the ATP Tour 500 series, the ATP Tour 250 series and Davis Cup. Also included in the 2019 calendar were the Hopman Cup, the Laver Cup and the Next Gen ATP Finals which do not distribute ranking points. For the Masters series events the ATP introduced a shot clock. Players had a minute to come on court, 5 minutes to warmup, and then a minute to commence play, as well as 25 seconds between points.

Jannik Sinner Italian tennis player (born 2001)

Jannik Sinner is an Italian professional tennis player. He is currently the youngest player ranked in the top 10 and has been ranked as high as world No. 9 by the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP), achieved on 1 November 2021, and world No. 124 in doubles, achieved on 27 September 2021. At the 2020 French Open, he became the youngest quarterfinalist in the men's singles event since Novak Djokovic in 2006 and on 1 November 2021, he became the first player born in the 2000s to break into the ATP top 10. He has won five ATP titles in singles and one in doubles, and became the youngest ATP title-holder since 2008 by winning the 2020 Sofia Open and the youngest to have five titles since Djokovic in 2007. He was also the youngest ATP 500 champion since the category was created in 2009 by winning the 2021 Citi Open in Washington, D.C. and becoming the first teen to lift a trophy at this level.
