Tennis at 2023 SEA Games was contested from 6 to 14 May 2023 at Tennis Arena, Morodok Techo National Stadium. [1] Seven events were featured for tennis namely: men's singles, women's singles, men's doubles, women's doubles, mixed doubles, men's team and women's team. [2]

Wheelchair tennis was first contested at the Summer Paralympics as a demonstration sport in 1988, with two events being held. It became an official medal-awarding sport in 1992 and has been competed at every Summer Paralympics since then. Four events were held from 1992 to 2000, with quad events in both singles and doubles added in 2004.

The tennis tournament at the 2011 SEA Games was held from November 13 to November 21 at the Jakabaring Sport Complex in Palembang in Indonesia. It was the 26th edition of tennis event at the SEA Games.

The United Cup is an international hard court tennis tournament featuring mixed-gender teams from 18 countries. The first event was held in December 2022 through January 2023. The tournament is played across three Australian cities over 11 days in the leadup to the Australian Open. It is also the first mixed-gender team event to offer both ATP rankings and WTA rankings points to its players: a player will be able to win a maximum of 500 points.

The 2023 United Cup was the first edition of the United Cup, an international outdoor hard court mixed-gender team tennis tournament held by the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) and the Women's Tennis Association (WTA). Serving as the opener for the 2023 ATP Tour and the 2023 WTA Tour, it was held from 29 December 2022 to 8 January 2023 at three venues in the Australian cities of Brisbane, Perth, and Sydney. It was also the first mixed-gender team event to offer both ATP rankings and WTA rankings points to its players: a player was able to win a maximum of 500 points.
