The gymnastics competitions at the 2023 SEA Games took place in Phnom Penh, Cambodia from 8 to 14 May 2023.
Women's events were not held for artistic gymnastics [1] while both men's and women's events were held for aerobic gymnastics. [2]
Except the hosts, individual artistic gymnasts could only contend for the medal in two individual apparatuses, in addition to the team and individual all-around events. [3] [4]

Gymnastics is a type of sport that includes physical exercises requiring balance, strength, flexibility, agility, coordination, artistry and endurance. The movements involved in gymnastics contribute to the development of the arms, legs, shoulders, back, chest, and abdominal muscle groups. Gymnastics evolved from exercises used by the ancient Greeks that included skills for mounting and dismounting a horse, and from circus performance skills.
The International Gymnastics Federation is the body governing competition in all disciplines of gymnastics. Its headquarters is in Lausanne, Switzerland. It was founded on 23 July 1881 in Liège, Belgium, making it the world's oldest existing international sports organisation. Originally called the European Federation of Gymnastics, it had three member countries—Belgium, France and the Netherlands—until 1921, when non-European countries were admitted and it received its current name.
The Southeast Asian Games, commonly known as SEA Games is a biennial multi-sport event involving participants from the current 11 countries of Southeast Asia. The games are under the regulation of the Southeast Asian Games Federation with supervision by the International Olympic Committee and the Olympic Council of Asia.
The Artistic Gymnastics World Championships are the world championships for artistic gymnastics governed by the Fédération Internationale de Gymnastique (FIG). The first edition of the championships was held in 1903, exclusively for male gymnasts. Since the tenth edition of the tournament, in 1934, women's events are held together with men's events.
The Gymnasiade, or World Gymnasiade, or World School Sport Games, or ISF World School Sport Games is an international multi-sport event which is organised by the International School Sport Federation (ISF). It is the largest event among many other sport events held by the ISF. Aligned with the philosophy of the organisation, only individuals between the ages of 13 and 18 are eligible to compete.
Gymnastics was contested at the 2011 Summer Universiade from August 13 to August 22 at the Bao'an District Gym and the Futain Sports Park Gym in Shenzhen, China. In artistic gymnastics, team, individual all-around, and individual events were held for both men and women. In rhythmic gymnastics, individual and group competitions were held. In aerobic gymnastics, mixed pairs, trios, group, aero-dance, and aero-step competitions were held.
The Cambodian national cricket team represents the country of Cambodia in international cricket competitions.
The Cambodia national basketball team represents Cambodia in international basketball competitions and is managed by the Cambodian Basketball Federation (CBF). At the 2023 SEA Games, Cambodia had its best performance ever, which has been the subject of controversy due to their inclusion of multiple naturalized players on their roster.
At the 2003 SEA Games edition, Gymnastics was divided into three sub-categories: artistic gymnastics, rhythmic gymnastics, and aerobics. The artistic gymnastics was held from December 5 to December 8, the rhythmic gymnastics from December 9 to December 11, and the aerobics gymnastics on December 12. All events were held at the Quần Ngựa Sports Palace, in Hanoi, Vietnam.
The 2022 World Games, commonly known as Birmingham 2022, were an international multi-sport event held from July 7 to 17, 2022, in Birmingham, Alabama, United States. They were the 11th World Games, a multi-sport event featuring disciplines of Olympic sports and other competitions that are not currently contested at the Olympic Games; the Games featured 3,457 athletes competing in 223 medal events over 34 total sports.
The 2015 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships was the 46th edition of the Artistic Gymnastics World Championships. The competition was held from 23 October – 1 November 2015 at The SSE Hydro in Glasgow, United Kingdom, and is the first time that Scotland hosted the event. The competition served as a qualification for the 2016 Summer Olympics.
The 2023 Southeast Asian Games, also known as the 32nd Southeast Asian Games, or the 32nd SEA Games, and commonly known as Cambodia 2023, was the 32nd edition of the Southeast Asian Games, a biennial sports multi-sport event which was held from 5 to 17 May 2023 in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
Gymnastics at the 2001 SEA Games was divided into two sub-categories: artistic gymnastics, and rhythmic gymnastics. The artistic gymnastics was held from September 8 to September 12, and the rhythmic gymnastics from September 14 to September 16. All events were held at the Putra Indoor Stadium National Sports Complex, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
The gymnastics competitions at the 2017 SEA Games in Kuala Lumpur were held at MATRADE Exhibition and Convention Centre in Segambut.
The South American Gymnastics Confederation (CONSUGI) organizes South American Gymnastics Championships in different disciplines of gymnastics: men's and women's artistic gymnastics, rhythmic gymnastics, trampoline and tumbling, as well as aerobic gymnastics.
Gymnastics competitions at the 2019 European Games in Minsk, Belarus, were held from 22 to 30 June 2019 at the Minsk-Arena. A total of 32 gymnastics events were held in the five disciplines; artistic, rhythmic, trampolining, aerobic and acrobatic.
Singapore sent a delegation to compete at the 2023 SEA Games held in Phnom Penh, Cambodia from 5 to 17 May 2023.
Gymnastics at the 2021 Islamic Solidarity Games was held in Konya, Turkey from 10 to 18 August 2022 in Konya Velodrome. Gymnastics competitions were held between 10–11 August 2022 for Men's Artistic and 17–18 August 2022 for Women's Artistic Gymnastics. Aerobic competitions were held between 13–14 August 2022 and The Rhythmic Gymnastics competitions were held on 13–14 August 2022.
The Cambodia national badminton team represents Cambodia in international badminton team competitions. It is controlled by the Cambodia Badminton Federation. Cambodia have never competed in any BWF organized team tournaments.
Cricket competitions at the 2023 SEA Games were held at AZ Group Cricket Oval in Phnom Penh, Cambodia from 29 April to 16 May 2023. Despite cricket in Cambodia being relatively unknown, the sport was included in the games following lobbying from the Cricket Federation of Cambodia and the Asian Cricket Council.
