Terri Dendy (born May 8, 1965) is a former American track and field athlete from Wilmington, Delaware. Dendy was ranked among the top ten women in the U.S. for the 400 meters event from 1986 through 1989 and again in 1993. [1] She was an alternate on the U.S. 4 x 400 meters relay team at the 1988 Summer Olympics. [2]
Dendy graduated from Concord High School, where she set a state record in the 400 meters. She continued her career at George Mason University, where she set school records indoors at 300 meters (38.77), 400 meters (52.57), 500 meters (1:11.45) and outdoors 400 meters (51.45). [3] Dendy was a semi-finalist in the 200 meters event at the 1989 World Indoor Championships, running 23.75 seconds. [4]
In 1993, at the World Indoor Championships in Toronto, Dendy won a silver medal in the 4 × 400 m relay. Outdoors, she also won a silver medal at the World Championships in Stuttgart, where she ran in the heats of the 4 × 400 m relay but not the final. [5]
Dendy was inducted into the Delaware Sports Hall of Fame in 2012. [6]
Her sister Dionne Jones-Dendy was also a track and field athlete, and her nephew Marquis Dendy is an American champion in the long jump. She now works as the athletic director at Northwestern High School in Hyattsville, Maryland. [7]
Merlene Joyce Ottey is a Jamaican-Slovenian former track and field sprinter. She began her career representing Jamaica in 1978 and continued to do so for 24 years before representing Slovenia from 2002 to 2012. She is ranked fourth on the all-time list over 60 metres (indoor), eighth on the all-time list over 100 metres and sixth on the all-time list over 200 metres. She is the current world indoor record holder for 200 metres with 21.87 seconds, set in 1993. She was named Jamaican Sportswoman of the Year 13 times between 1979 and 1995.
Gwendolyn Lenna Torrence is a retired American sprinter and Olympic champion. She was born in Decatur, Georgia. She attended Columbia High School and the University of Georgia. She was offered a scholarship because of her athletic abilities, but she said she wasn't interested because she initially wanted to become a beautician. From the persuasion from her coaches and family, she chose to enroll to the University of Georgia.

Angela Williams is an American athlete. Williams attended the University of Southern California, graduating in 2002. She won the Honda Sports Award as the nation's best female track and field competitor in 2002, which qualified her as a nominee for the Honda-Broderick Cup, awarded to the best overall female collegiate athlete in 12 sports. She was named the winner of that award also in 2002.
Monique Hennagan is an American athlete who mainly competes in the 400 metres. She won her first relay medal at the 1999 World Indoor Championships and her second in 2003.

Dr. Sheila Ann Hudson is an American former track and field athlete and Olympian, ranked among the all-time greatest U.S. competitors in the women's triple jump. Throughout her career, she won nine U.S. triple jump titles, and set two world bests and nine American records. She previously held the indoor American record in the women's triple jump (46-8.25) as well as the outdoor American record in women's triple jump (47-3.5) with a wind aided all-time best jump of 48-1.25. Hudson won the silver medal at the 1994 IAAF World Cup, finished eighth at the 1995 World Indoor Championships, tenth at the 1996 Olympic Games and fifth at the 1998 IAAF World Cup.

Monica Hargrove is an American track and field athlete who specializes in the 200- and 400-meter dash. She won the silver medal at the 2006 IAAF World Indoor Championships as part of the 4×400-meter relay team, and also set a world best in the sprint medley relay at the Penn Relays that year.
Eilidh Doyle is a retired British track and field athlete. Originally running as Eilidh Child, she specialised in the 400 metres hurdles outdoors, and the 400 metres flat indoors, as well as the 4 x 400 metres relay on both surfaces. She represented Great Britain at the 2012 Olympic Games in London, and won an Olympic bronze medal in the 4 x 400 metres relay at the 2016 Games in Rio de Janeiro. Individually, she is the 2014 European Champion and a three-time Commonwealth silver medalist in the 400 metres hurdles.

His winning jump, of 8.68 m, though wind aided at +3.7mps, his first jump of the competition, was the longest jump in the world under any conditions in over 5 years. He grew up in Middletown, Delaware.
Randy Jenelle Givens is an American former track and field athlete who competed in sprinting events. She set personal bests of 11.06 seconds for the 100-meter dash and 22.31 seconds for the 200-meter dash. Givens was a 200 m finalist at the 1984 Olympic Games and represented her country at the 1983 World Championships in Athletics. She was the 200 m gold medalist at the 1983 Pan American Games and returned to win a silver medal at the 1987 edition.

She was part of the World Championship team twice more, in 2001 and 2005, and helped the United States to silver at the 2002 IAAF World Cup and gold at the 2001 Goodwill Games.

Trevaia Williams-Davis is an American sprinter and hurdler, who specialized in the 400-meter dash. She was a silver medalist in the 4 × 400 m relay at the 1993 IAAF World Indoor Championships, along with her teammates Terri Dendy, Dyan Webber, and Natasha Kaiser-Brown. She was the bronze medalist in the 400 m hurdles at the 1993 Summer Universiade. She married Terril Davis, another sprinter. They have two sons, Isaac and Jayden. She exposed her sons to the sport through her work. For example, while coaching a track club at Eduprize, a charter school in Queen Creek, Arizona, Trevaia supported her sons to train with the other kids.
Anna Hall is an American athlete specializing in the combined events. She won the silver medal in the heptathlon at the 2023 World Championships and the bronze medal at the 2022 World Championships. Hall is the North American indoor record holder for the pentathlon.
