The Jungle Giants are an Australian indie rock band from Brisbane, Queensland, who formed in 2011.
The band have released four full-length albums and two EPs. Their fourth studio album, Love Signs , was released on 23 July 2021.
All four members of The Jungle Giants attended Mansfield State High School in Mansfield, Brisbane. [ citation needed ] Singer-Songwriter-Guitarist, Sam Hales and Cesira Aitken (Lead Guitarist) played in one band and, bassist, Andrew Dooris and Keelan Bijker (Drummer) in another.
After completing school in 2009, Hales worked two jobs to fund a debut self-titled EP, which was recorded with local producer, Yanto Browning at Airlock Studios in January 2011. [ citation needed ] Hales contributed drums, as well as vocals and guitar on the EP, with Aitken on guitar and Dooris on bass, before recruiting Bijker to complete the band. The EP was released independently in March 2011. The Jungle Giants EP contained lead single "Mr. Polite", which was picked up by Triple J Unearthed and led to widespread national touring in support of established Australian bands Ball Park Music, Boy and Bear and Last Dinosaurs.
The band's follow-up EP, She's a Riot , was released via Create/Control on 27 July 2012, drawing on life experiences and telling stories of friendships and relationships in Hales' life. In late 2012, The Jungle Giants supported Last Dinosaurs' national Satellites tour with Twinsy. This was followed by an early 2013 tour with Two Door Cinema Club, playing a series of concerts throughout Australia along with The Vaccines. On 26 January 2013, single "She's a Riot" ranked 83rd on the Triple J Hottest 100, 2012. [1]
In May 2013, The Jungle Giants released "I Am What You Want Me to Be", the first track from their debut album Learn to Exist which was released 30 August 2013. [2] The band toured Australia to celebrate the release which included both headline performances and appearances at Splendour In The Grass 2013 & Spin Off Festival. [3] The album received positive reception overall. It was a featured album on national radio station Triple J in the week leading up to the release. The band extended the tour due to popular demand with extra shows in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne. [4]
In 2014, the Jungle Giants performed on the national Big Day Out touring festival alongside acts such as Arcade Fire and Pearl Jam. They were also announced shortly afterwards to perform on the national regional touring festival Groovin' the Moo in April & May 2014, which includes performances by Dizzee Rascal, Disclosure, and Karnivool. The band additionally announced headline performances as part of the "Tuss Tour" that will take place shortly prior to their Groovin' The Moo performances, performing in Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne and Perth. In August 2015, the band released their second studio album Speakerzoid .
In May 2017, their song "Come and Be Alone with Me" was featured in the trailer video for series 3 of Casual .
In July 2017, they released their third studio album, Quiet Ferocity . [6] which spawned the singles "Feel the Way I Do", "On Your Way Down", "Bad Dream" and "Used to Be in Love". At the 2018 AIR Awards, the album won Best Independent Album or EP. [7]
On 8 July 2019, the Jungle Giants released the song "Heavy Hearted". [8] In January 2020, the song polled at number 8 in Triple J's Hottest 100 of 2019, and became their first single to chart inside the ARIA Top 100 Singles Chart. [9] On 17 January 2020, they released the single "Sending Me Ur Loving", [10] which peaked at number 55 on the ARIA Singles Chart in February 2021. [9]
On 24 May 2021, the band announced their fourth studio album, Love Signs . Love Signs was released on 23 July 2021. [11]
On 10 March 2023, the band released "Trippin' Up"; the first taste of the band's upcoming fifth studio record. [12]
The band members went to school together, at Mansfield State High School. [13]

Hermitude are an Australian electronic-hip hop duo, originating from the Blue Mountains, New South Wales.
Emma Louise Lobb, who performs as Emma Louise, is an Australian indie pop singer-songwriter from Cairns. She is best known for her 2011 debut single "Jungle". Two studio albums, Vs Head vs Heart and Supercry, have reached the ARIA Albums Chart top 15. At the ARIA Music Awards of 2013 she was nominated for Best Female Artist.
Ball Park Music is an Australian five-piece indie rock band from Brisbane consisting of Sam Cromack, Jennifer Boyce, Paul Furness, Dean Hanson and Daniel Hanson. Since forming in 2008, the band has released seven studio albums. Their debut, Happiness and Surrounding Suburbs (2011), was nominated for Australian Album of the Year at the J Awards, and its 2012 follow-up, Museum, debuted at number nine on the ARIA charts. Their third album, Puddinghead (2014), was supported by the certified-platinum lead single "She Only Loves Me When I'm There".
DZ Deathrays are an Australian dance-punk trio from Brisbane, Queensland. Tomas Henry Gaynor, known professionally as Allday, is an Australian rapper, singer and songwriter from Adelaide. Gaynor became active in 2011, when he began uploading his music for free online. Following his works becoming increasingly popular, he moved to Melbourne, to pursue a serious career before later relocating to Los Angeles in February 2017. His works have been influenced by acts such as Silverchair, Frank Ocean, and TLC. Gaynor released his debut album, Startup Cult, in July 2014 to Australian audiences. Startup Cult achieved success and reached number three on the ARIA Charts.

Jarryd James Klapper is an Australian singer, songwriter and record producer who performs as Jarryd James. He released his debut single "Do You Remember" on 30 January 2015, which peaked at No. 2 on the ARIA Singles Chart. His debut album, Thirty One, also reached No. 2 on the related ARIA Albums Chart. At the ARIA Music Awards of 2015, James won Best Pop Release for "Do You Remember".
Cub Sport are an Australian pop group formed in Brisbane in early 2010. Founding mainstays are Zoe Davis on keyboards, bass guitar, lead guitar and vocals, Tim Nelson on lead vocals and keyboards, Sam "Bolan" Netterfield on keyboards and vocals, and Dan Puusaari on drums. They have released five studio albums, This Is Our Vice (2016), Bats (2017), Cub Sport (2019), Like Nirvana (2020) and Jesus at the Gay Bar (2023). Jesus at the Gay Bar peaked at number one on the ARIA Albums Chart, Like Nirvana reached number two and Cub Sport appeared at number twelve. Nelson and Netterfield married in August 2018.

Slowly Slowly is an Australian pop punk and indie rock band from Melbourne, Victoria. The band consists of Ben Stewart, Patrick Murphy (drums), Albert Doan (guitar), and Alex Quayle. They released its debut album Chamomile in 2016.
