Thermophis is a genus of snakes in the family Colubridae. The genus is endemic to China.
The genus includes three species: [1]
The checkered keelback, also known commonly as the Asiatic water snake, is a common species in the subfamily Natricinae of the family Colubridae. The species is endemic to Asia. It is non-venomous.
Rhabdophis is a genus of snakes in the subfamily Natricinae of the family Colubridae. Species in the genus Rhabdophis are generally called keelback snakes, and are found primarily in Southeast Asia.
Thermophis baileyi, also known commonly as Bailey's snake, the hot-spring keelback, the hot-spring snake, and the Xizang hot-spring keelback, is a rare species of colubrid snake endemic to Tibet.
Boomsong's stream snake, also known as Boomsong's keelback and Boonsong's stream snake, is a species of snake in the family Colubridae, subfamily Natricinae (keelbacks). It is monotypic in the genus Isanophis. The species is endemic to Thailand.
Opisthotropis is a genus of snakes in the family Colubridae. The genus is endemic to Southeast Asia and South China.
The Alethinophidia are an infraorder of snakes that includes all snakes other than blind snakes and thread snakes. Snakes have long been grouped into families within Alethinophidia based on their morphology, especially that of their teeth. More modern phylogenetic hypotheses using genetic data support the recognition of 19 extant families, although the taxonomy of alethinophidian snakes has long been debated, and ultimately the decision whether to assign a particular clade to a particular Linnaean rank is arbitrary.
Boulenger's keelback, also known commonly as the Sri Lankan keelback, is a species of water snake in the family Colubridae. The species is endemic to Sri Lanka.
Colubroidea is a superfamily of snakes in the clade Colubroides that includes Colubridae, with some studies splitting Colubridae into multiple families that make up Colubroidea. Historically, Colubroidea also included other caenophidian snakes such as cobras and vipers, as these snakes form a clade. However these groups are now divided into several distinct, but related, families. Zaher et al. (2009) proposed to redefine Colubroidea for colubrids and related families, while designating Colubroides as the group containing vipers and cobras as well as colubroids. The ReptileDatabase considers Colubroidea to be composed of Colubridae and the members of its sister group, Elapoidea, and does not recognize the division of Colubridae into multiple families.
Dipsadinae is a large subfamily of colubroid snakes, sometimes referred to as a family (Dipsadidae). They are found in most of the Americas, including the West Indies, and are most diverse in South America. There are more than 700 species.
Trimerodytes is a genus of snakes in the subfamily Natricinae of the family Colubridae. The genus is endemic to East Asia and Southeast Asia.
Tropidonophis is a genus of snakes in the subfamily Natricinae of the family Colubridae.
Hebius is a genus of snakes in the family Colubridae.
Hebius sauteri, commonly known as Sauter's keelback or the Kosempo keelback, is a species of snake in the family Colubridae. The species is endemic to Asia.
Herpetoreas is a genus of snakes in the subfamily Natricinae of the family Colubridae. The genus is endemic to South Asia.
The Colubroides are a clade in the suborder Serpentes (snakes). It contains over 85% of all the extant species of snakes. The largest family is Colubridae, but it also includes at least six other families, at least four of which were once classified as "Colubridae" before molecular phylogenetics helped in understanding their relationships. It has been found to be monophyletic.
Fowlea schnurrenbergeri or Xenochrophis schnurrenbergeri is a species of Non venomous snake in the family Colubridae. It is found in Nepal, Pakistan, India and Bangladesh.
Hebius septemlineatus, the Tengchong keelback snake, is a species of snake of the family Colubridae. It is endemic to western Yunnan, China. The vernacular name refers to its type locality, Tengchong.
Hebius weixiensis, the Weixi keelback snake, is a species of snake of the family Colubridae. It is endemic to China and known from around Lijiang in Yunnan. The specific name weixiensis refers to its type locality, Weixi County.
Thermophis shangrila, the Shangri-La hot-spring snake, is a species of snake in the family, Colubridae. It is found in China.
Thermophis zhaoermii, the Sichuan hot-spring keelback, is a species of snake in the family, Colubridae. It is found in China.
